Mukhtar are here and they're clearly awesome. They're Chronicles of Ridiculous. So what tactics and loadouts spring to mind for you guys? For me a Haris of Red Fury, Shotgun Doc+ and Haris Viral. Fast, tough, very lethal, specialist and CQB awesomeness. Feels like 98pts and 1.5 SWC I'll love to spend. Reminder for those who haven't seen the sexy sexy profiles...
On a mostly unrelated note, I can't help but to compare basic Mukhtars with basic Lasiqs and it surprises me how much stuff they get for the price of LSG and 5 points. Maybe that's fair somewhat, but seeing how it can easily be half-fixed by the fact Haris exists (and it's Doctor who has the BSG)... Okay, nevermind me, I'm just sad that HB got nothing and I feel the need to back up my reputation of being one of the very few salty ***holes on Haqq forums by posting unrelated stuff everywhere while lacking perspective of a seasoned player. Tbh some of new profiles look like PanO units to me. Except that they run fast, refuse to die for a little longer and sometimes lack big guns PanO folks would have (for example, with something bigger at their disposal Hortlacks would be Bagh Mari deluxe). Somehow this dents my excitement even though I've been looking for an excuse to stop running these extremely tiresome 24 order lists (which I still lose with because I suck at everything pertaining to Infinity except shitposting here) :(
Bahram are still very strong my friend, but that is perhaps a discussion for a different thread? I'm excited for what Mukhtar bring at least
I really dig these guys. Plenty of Ariadna players in my local meta so these troops seem like a custom made solution for me.
I think you're forgetting Tarik is Wildcard... Haris Link (116 points/2 SWC) Tarik w/Spitfire Mukhtar w/Harris Mukhtar w/Doc Plus Move is 6-x, 5B fatality2 & BS 16 in the sweet spot. Even if you use Tarik shooting at a -9BS, you get 41% chance of a crit. This IS the reason to play RTF. In general the rest of the sectoral doesn't really appeal to me, but I do want to try this. I've been looking at the Tarik fireteam options. If you want a 6-x fireteam this is the only option. You can get a 5 man, but you need to take more fragile units that move slower. I think the extra speed and resilience is worth the loss of the 5 man team.
We still don't know it Tarik will be a Wilcard or if a new Tarik FTO will be. In that case, who knows what he will bring, maybe just a Contender!!!
What would be the point of such theoretial Tarik FTO anyway? +1 SWC without losing RAW shooting power (but maybe losing rangebands) while in a link?
That would be hilarious Although quite pointless too...but what do I know. On Topic, yeah that Haris is really sweet. Will do an ecellent job against everything with visual mods and the Viral Rifle can even threaten Tags, save for those with BTS 9. But depending on the Mission I might go for duos. That Assault Hacker with his nice BTS 6 has at east some defense against KHD and if Leila becomes Wildcard here to, she is going to team up with him. I hope that the Namurr Duo can link with them to, then she is teamed with a Doc+ in many cases.
I was thinking Haris+RF+FO (not sure I need a doc for a couple NWI guys). Adding Tarik would mean losing MSV2 - and as good at Fatality 2 is, he still can't see through smoke.
I might be being shortsighted, but if he is already in fighting form, it would be spending an order on healing that could be used otherwise (plus a second or third time if you get 15+ on your WIP roll). Plus the FO has D-Charges, which are sometimes important for classified and the only other units in RTF with them are Leila, Namurr, and Najjarun that we know about.
Sometimes the insurance of having that wound again is nice. It’s a trade off depending on command tokens, order remaining, and how often you roll above a 17, but I’d rather not just go straight to dead on a crit or failed save if the situation calls for it. Plus they can doctor themselves as has been mentioned elsewhere, which makes them tougher to take down on their own Basically if I’m going up against a unit at b1 and I have the option to doctor before hand I’ll do it. In theory
Your other points are very fair, however, keep in mind that a Doctor Plus get's a +3 to their doctor roll. You need to roll an 18, 19 or 20 to fail.
