Poor bolts. Whos playing them when you can use a Kaplan link? Having access to the wonderful Securitates fireteam + Zero + Crocmen + Kriza Boracs sounds awesome. The major downside of this merc group seems to be the lack of smoke and MSV 2. 1 Brawler unlinked MSV 2 sniper is not good but I suppose better than nothing. At list theres some eclipse grenades for us to use. I find Valkyrie of questionable use for her cost when she lacks any smoke and smoke of any kind seems so limited in this faction.
Valk will be able to link with Mr. Deadpool so there's some nice handy Eclipse to deliver two terrifying CC troopers at once!
I'm totally up for Dashat! The Hulang will do better in this force than in IA or YJ! I'd love to do a conversion or something of McMurder. I want to do a White Tiger of the West theme and make him look cat-like.
I think all 3 will get modells for infinity. On the one hand the bases for Aristeia are bigger, and the modells seem bigger as well, and on the other hand the existing modells aren't metall. Just too sad that they didn't include Miamoto and Dart, as they already exist in the game as well!
I'm very excited to use Foreign company. PanO combined with a really decent skirmisher? YES PLEASE! I really hope Kaplans can form that fun 5 man team with whatever their "special" link will be. At first I was a little bummed about having no MSV2 outside of a lone Brawler, but there's enough CC monsters in the faction to the point where that might not be an issue. the Pathfinder seems like a must to me though – so we'll see.
Bostria specifically said that the Soldiers of Fortune will eventually get their own Infinity scuplts as well. Don't worry about.
I was a little disappointed FC didn't have troops from more different factions. "Foreign" just made me think that way I guess.
They are still one of the only two sectorials to get access to MSV2, Smoke, White Noise, and Eclipse. Starco Gets to link their Brawler though
The only one i see is Senor Massacre. Dashat has a quite a few of it however. 1-4 Kum, McMurder, Al Fasid, Sait Togan.
Totally started combining profiles for the two mercs together in my head. Can you choose to downgrade an Iguana's EDL2 or does Obligatory force you to stay in L2?
So the only NA-2/Merc company that hasn't been revealed yet is the Varangian Guard which has a Caledonia Ariadna flare to it. The RPG book states that they provide security to new colonies pushing into Antipode territory & they try to hire Paradiso veterans. So there could be a good mix of PanO/Yu Jing/Nomad/Haqq troops. Besides that CB doesn't mention any other "important/famous" Merc companies. There is a short story of Jake Wu from SecLock but who knows if they will become playable in the future. I also think that Foreign Company is my favorite Merc sectorial so far. Ikari would be second with Star Co. and Dashat being indifferent to me.
White Company (pulling from the Hawkwood company from late Medieval/early Renaissance Italy) would be White Star. They and the Varangian Guard seem longshots to appear on the table.
Really? Where does it say that? That could be it I guess. At this point we just don't known yet until CB gives us more information.
I wouldnt mind seeing a more focused KTS sectorial like the druze have. Also think about this, foreign company and dahshat company are basically pano+nomads and haqq+yujing respectively. Basically operation icestorm and red veil. What if we later on down the road get a new na2 army that's ariadna+aleph. It may not be a mercenary company per se or maybe that's what they do with the varangian guard? Who knows but it sort of seems like a pattern.
Sign me up for Foreign Company! I already have most of the models and I’m excited to do a sectorial that still has that PanO flavor. Every other army I have played really hasn’t hit the mark on what I want to play, so here’s hoping that “PanO + fun toys” is what I want.
There was the Wotan connection with both being stationed on the same base that could lend some credence to this
