1) Climbing Plus does not give you an ability to sit on a wall, it only gives you an ability to move along it easier => losing climb+ does not mean you fall off. 2) And if we are speaking of RAW - according to RAW, the only way to get falling damage is to declare Jump.
Not exactly. That's what first clause of Climbing+ does, which is rendered pointless by second clause and the rest of the rule anyway, so you'll probably never see a model with Climbing+ actually declaring Climb. The problem with sitting on walls has little to do with that position per se. It's with falling Unconscious and having to go Prone, which is impossible in that position, but there's also no RAW to remove your model from that position. Whatever you chose to resolve the issue, you're breaking one of the rules: - Unconscious models having to fall prone; - Model on a wall unable to go prone. REMs don't have this problem at all because they don't follow the first rule.
I can see that interpretation given the Move+BS example they give. Not super pertinent to this discussion exactly. Total agreement on the rest. The problem is how to deal with prone while climbing. Remotes seems pretty straight forward and should stay on the wall.
Do any of you think Laxmee will be joining Corregidor? I'm on my phone, otherwise I'd link in the profile.
Laxmee was a ganger who fled Corregidor as a youth to escape the authorities after stealing a milspec Hacking Device, so she was never part of their military/mercenary forces. It's possible, but apart from her childhood she doesn't seem to have that many ties to them any more.
It would also be a significant buff. CB really restricts smoke + Msv, or white noise in sectorials. I believe only Starco gets it. Laxmee in Corregidor would be a sea change
I've got it here. I doubt they'd add her, as other have said White Noise is a powerful tool, especially when you have repeaters upfield thanks to Morans. It's one of the main reasons I like vanilla so much... On the other hand, we've already got eclipse smoke so would it be that broken? :shrugs:
Well ... There is a pretty big difference between standing in eclipse and being blind, and being in white noise and being able to shoot anything with a visor while imposing a -6 mod. Or using white noise to shut off visor aros while you shoot non-visored ones. Or using white noise to blind a ramboing rui shi, while leaving it open to possible return fire. It's certainly not equivalent.
If Laxmee was added to CJC, she would be the best hacker CJC has to offer. No other hacking option would come close, aside for EVO for EVO reasons. I can't see CB allowing that.
I'm not arguing it's equivalent, White Noise is a very powerful tool and as I said, I doubt CJC will get it. The only reason I could see CB giving a HD+ to CJC is to bring it up in terms of tricks compared to vanilla and StarCo. But again, I don't think it's happening.
StarCo is the only sectorial in the game with access to MSV2, Smoke and WN though. That seems like a pretty intentional choice.
Well, Vanilla Nomads, Aleph, and CA all have it too. I know they aren't sectorials, but I don't really see that as much of a distinction anymore. However, having a HD+ in CJC would shift the internal sectorial balance of Nomads pretty hard in CJC's favor. I'm just glad to be excited about CJC again.
That's the advantage of going Vanilla over Sectorial though, the versatility available to you as opposed to higher unit AVA, off-faction extras, and fireteams.
And the problem I've seen people having with Corregidor is that they aren't getting useful AVAs and the Fireteams weren't enough.
OMG, this! Remember when Bandits were AVA 3 in CJC at first? That's a useful increase in availability. It seems like most of the AVA increases for CJC are centered around making the links possible, taking crazy AD heavy lists, or 5 Intruders just for the laughs. Give me back AVA 3 Bandits! I'd rather have that than an HD+ anyway.
What's weird is how high an AVA Vanilla Nomads has on some things: AVA2 Morans, when Zeros and Hecklers provide alternatives, or AVA2 Bandits when Bran exists. Compare PanO AVA for things like Hexas (3 in NCA and 1 in Vanilla). So, I honestly don't think you need to increase the AVA in CJC so much as reduce the AVA in Vanilla. But I'm a big proponent of slight nerfs to top tier factions being a good thing.
Even 2 AVA Hellcats would give me something I do in Correg unavailable to Vanilla but what is it like 4? wtf?
Hello everyone, please post heartwarming and interesting things about Corregidor so I get motivated to paint my CJC rather than buy into Foreign Company. TIA
