    Makes me think that marker state is fine, just so long as it's on the table.

    Markers can also be troopers, these two things aren't mutually exclusive.

    I thought that Trooper != Marker I'll happily be wrong, though.

    Yes a marker is also a Trooper. So you can attach a symbiothing to one.

    No, it's Model != Marker

    If markers weren't troopers then you couldn't spend orders on them!!!

    Dude, viral pistol. Surprise attack. In viral pistol good range. Then suppressive on edge of enemy dZ. Great roadblock!!

    Going to try the kriigel both with and without a bomb for sure. Just need to figure out who gets the second bomb (answer: a second kriigel, in spiral corps?)

    A 2-Wound guy with Mates or Bombs that can sprint an E/M template into your DZ with its first Order is an anti mixed-link monster. Seems like it was specifically made to disrupt the big fireteams of TAK, OSS, VIRD. Go with E/M template to just try and isolate guys and remove those 5-man bonuses, or spray with Shock ammo and stop key pieces from getting Doctored back up. Really nice tool.

    as opposed to a clipsos who is 6 points cheaper, with one less bs but gets the TO mods on top of suppressive. actually, either way having a unit that far upfield in suppressive is not a great tactic in my opinion. it's much more effective to have your opponent spend at least 3 orders on a unit before they get ARO'd, so that if the unit dies in the aro, the opponent has lost a significant investment. again, it's prolly just playstyle preferences, but this unit seems not great.

    the spiral corps version does seem pretty cool tho.

    He's a useful bit of kit, good for picking off stragglers or exposing weaknesses in deployment. Suppressive on the edge of enemy dz just makes it harder for him to be dealt with as you well know. Clipsos isn't even in the same league as you'll much more than likely fail the deployment roll to stick them that far up the board. Totally different usage case

    That thing starts just outside the enemy DZ, can eat 3 wounds before going down (mate + symbiont + 1W) and doing so cripple some juicy target with his E/Mitter or placing E/Maulers... And if he want to go on killing spree, here is the precious Viral Pistol...
    The only thing he is not good at, is CC.

    For added fun, change the mate with a bomb...

    Also you could only assign the mate when placing the Keltar, so if you have first turn you can either hold the Kiuutan back and have no Mate/Bomb on him or you place him with the rest of the army and a Mate/Bomb but then the enemy can easily counterdeploy. (Assuming you do not have first turn and second deploy)

    Sometimes forcing the enemy to counterdeploy instead of letting him freely choose is a valid tactic.

    In Spiral you can bring 2, so you could place one with a 'bomb or 'mate, get your opponent to counter deploy and then set up the other one right next to the link they thought was safe.

    I think the options this unit brings are nice. He will be great for taking out order generators, and unlinked specialists. I do not expect the vanilla version to trade up often, but having a survivable harassing piece in your opponents table half can be great, and the Spiral versions are highly disruptive to link teams, and remotes.
