The Reex Escorts appear to be a variation of the Kaauri. Stats are the same but they have different weapons and skills. I do like filling out my army with Kaauri, so I will probably use these guys as well. If nothing else I can throw them together with all the other Exalted things to pretend I have an Exalted Sectorial for Tohaa.
So my question on reex is are they wounds or structure? It says wounds on the army list yesterday, but it also says wounds for the kaauri. If they are str, those kosuil become pretty potent options to get your dudes back online.
I figured they were STR and that was a typo, but honestly it could go either way. I suspect we will learn more when the video hits later today.
I am not sold on the Reex. I feel like they are there as some mid range options for Spiral because they do not have access to Kamael, so I do not see much use for them outside of Spiral. They are some sweet looking minis though.
The Spitfire model looks like it has a visor of some kind, but the profile we've seen so far didn't have anything.
Hopefully there's an MSV spitfire in addition to the regular one. Lots of units have been getting an MSV spitfire or sniper even when the rest of the profiles fdon't have visors.
Kind of lukewarm on them, i get that they are supposed to be cheap weapon options, but outside of the specific triad they probably won't see my board.
just a worse version of kaauri, having wounds on them sucks. tohaa still only has 1 troop that we can use for that engineering mission. why would we be excited about spending 17 points for a spitfire on a guy that cannot get the bonus for 5 person fireteam? that part of the video really irked me. like, its not a good use of points, and telling players that is just misleading. i could see using these as proxies for the kaauri tho, i like them better than the weird goatmen minis.
oh my bad, sorry. i just looked at the profiles and didn't listen to most of what he was saying. so, yay, another str unit. they will prolly act as kaauri #5 and #6 in that case
This made me wonder, too. Do you think they ditched the MSV after the model was already designed? I guess it would be a bit strange, since using Mirrorball on the Kriigel could be a hindrance for an MSV Reex in the same Fireteam.
It isn't the first time Corvus releases models that don't fit the profile (wrong sized Kawaii Sentinels, non-existing Symbiont Armour on Kerail Preceptor...)
true. i'm not really thinking in terms of spiral tho, as i don't see the faction as viably competing with vanilla tohaa for my playstyle.
I know. It will be impossible to get anything remotely similar to your list in Spiral. As a side note; I've tried to play 20 orders melee oriented Tohaa and failed miserably. I just can't throw smokes correctly :D Kudos to you for making it work.
this basically redeems the unit for me, even if it's just for silly shit, it's the dream combo of Viral plus marksmanship.
