28pt HI 38-44pt LI Ramah clearly based in the upside down. Cost of the Nammurr is quite oppressive but the profile is very itneresting. Keen to give it a go. The Mukhtar though seems like it'll be an auto include. Keen to see what the Aeromobile team is. Overall quite excited about the sectorial barring one thing: I totally expected Salladin to be here :*(
Hmmmmm ... still looking like a glass cannon, but definitely an improvement. I can’t stop wondering about AVA2 Special fireteam Maghariba Guard ...
I was absolutely expecting that. For the most part because I didn't expect CB to give us more cheap stuff to generate orders in RTF with (our line infantry of any flavour isn't exactly expendable by general standards), nevermind that "well-equipped elite force" theme. This is great. Also, NWI for the NWI god. Well, at least this time NWI+Immunity isn't just gaming pts system, seeing how having units survive in unconscious state after taking second wound is kind of a big deal when you have our doctors. Oh, and I guess it's time to retire those jokes about "having best medics, not having units worth spending order healing".
That Mukhtar can heal itself in NWI. Thats so awesome...clear a Mine with him and if he gets a wound you can do your experimental drug Classified^^
Well, Mukhtar... 6-2 movs, BS13, mimetism, FD1 and 2 wounds. With a Viral Rifle that thing is one of the best gunfighters in the game, certainly at his pricepoint. Will murder anything that doesn't have at least 6BTS + cover. I Honestly think that the proliferation of NWI + immunity just means that the 2nd wound is *way* too expensive on CB formula, and that the Shock proliferation that people on ALEPH have been complaining for a while is very real.
The same way the mercs fit in most any other sectorial. Varuna, IA, USAriadna, Caledonia and Steel Phalanx are the exceptions, not the rule. You need to remember that Infinity teams you put on the table aren't cohesive units. It's a rag tag group of operatives with different levels of training and experience that are thrown together. Sectorials are more focused, but it is still a mash up of a bunch of people that are plucked out of the available units in the immediate area and generally include one or two mercenaries they are willing to hire on. They fit in as mercenaries that are different from the rest of the available forces, that is the point. Why spend a bunch of money hiring a specific individual mercenary to do a job one of your troops can already do?
Maghariba used to have a rule where people could kinda ride it, but it was removed due to being complicated, only for one mini and lack of use
Yeah, that was before my time. Too bad. Another thing...I hobe the Nahabs are a AD troop. Yes we already have lots of them in Haqq, but Id like a dedicated AD assault unit in Ramah. If possible with Supersoldier abilities.
The Mukhtar are everything I ever wanted out of RTF expect bioimmunuty to take more advantage of bts 6. The MSV2 red fury option looks so good, it’ll honestly probably replace the Djanbazan entirely for me in vanilla (unless they make is Ramah specific). FD1 puts him closer to where he wants to fight, and 6-2 gets him closer to all of your different smoke sources faster. Of course this is RTF we’re talking about, not vanilla. A viral rifle, doctor plus, red fury haris is definitely the first thing I’m going to try out when the army drops. I just wish they didn’t look like Nomad troops to me, but oh well...
Agree with others that the Mukhtar is what I wanted the Khawarij to be. Captain Proxy returns! Thoughts: 1. The units > Naffatun special is intriguing - maybe with Mag or Ghulams? > Zhayedan Haris > of course, but good to see > Khawarijs > I think already outclassed as aggressive glass cannons in their own sectorial > Mukhtar > wonderful, see below > Nahab > color me intrigued - another AD troop? > Namurr > agree with Bostria, a bit pricey > Hortlak > Coc is nice, interesting cheap Janissary link; was not expecting that > Fasid, Rafiq, Shaytinanay > mystery special links! 2. Hortlak Janissaries - superlight HI for cheaper links, with CoC, and MSV1 - not bad. And I was wrong in other thread thinking that art was the Husam - but happy to be wrong. 3. Namurr - a lot of skills costing a lot; looks like Khawarij syndrome 4. Mukhtar - very nice; better version of Khawarij IMO. Better move, as good of shooting, better defenses, Mimetism - wonderful. Plus a high burst MSV2 attack piece to steal Khawarij thunder even more.
Are you telling me that instead of saturating the map with 5-8pts irregulars i have to do it with mimetic, 2w/nwi, 6-2 FD1 regular expensive models now?! Sign me in, Daddy Ramah Also yeah, first thing that popped into my mind; i don't have to play with Khawarijis \o/ so many good choices
Mukhtar are sweet ... but how will they not make khawarij mostly irrelevant? This was all introduced as making the Khawarij relevant again. Maybe they’ll link with more than themselves and Tarik?
Seems unlikely since they don't have 'Special' under fireteams. Also seems unlikely given a new profile was released for them not long ago.
