Yes I think the kiutan depends on the smg loadout price. Straytocloud needs to be nuts to justify the hike over a sakiel.
From Warcor forum: Koni confirmed they are removing tohaa units from production Edited following pm by koni
Sakiel abuse the frenzy/impetuous exploit. That drops a lot of points. Simbiont armors are currently underpriced. The cost in these new units seems more correct.
Sakiel and Draal are quite different, you cannot compare them. What I can see replacing the Sakiel is the Kriigel, which is less resilient but brings more utility. Regarding the Kiuutan, unless the "Inferior Impersonation" is a shitty rule, I can see it as a very effective "Terror Weapon" that will change the way the oponent deploys and plays just because of its existance. The Reex Escorts seem like a worse Kawaii Sentinel, I guess their utility comes from their Fireteam Options. Kiel-San is dissapointing, but I didn't really expect much of him since the begining; in vanilla Tohaa even a linked Ectros is better. In the Sectorial it might work as the kind of troop that you just throw at the enemy spending orders moving+shooting until you get into Close Combat or die; if you are lucky with Metachemistry, you can get good movement skills. Taagma look fun and useful while keeping the cost pretty low. Between Taagma, Kiuutan, Clipsos, Igao and Kotail, alongside with several Minelayer profiles, looks lie vanilla Tohaa will now be very powerful if we decide to "play dirty".
They either gather single miniatures in one pack (like the Kaauri sentinels all 4 together in one box), or create a brand new sculpt of the model to newer standards (see new vs old Neema for example)
yeah but what is the 'Koni confirmed its repack/resculpt' message in reference too, I think was the question.
I'm still trying to wrap my head around the implications of just having Eraser on a model. Noting the restriction on only targeting models with wounds, it's Jammer++. No wonder they're so expensive for line infantry stats.
Yeah with burst 2 and dt ammo it's bad news for anyone getting hit by it. I quite like the cheaper reex option too, a linked contender and shotgun is relatively scary to the sort of stuff that preys on 13pt line troops.
Why would you retire good a board control unit as well as a generic support pack? Even with Zoe you would still miss our only Doctor. I agree we need some new sculpts especially for the support units but hey, we can proxy them with Machaon and Dactyls. ;) Nevermind, this is a Tohaa forum and I can understand that a bit of time to restock their vegetables supplies is needed now. ;)
Sorry, I mean that would be perfectly fine if they retire the miniatures and keep the profiles, as seems to will happen with Tohaa. Retire old miniatures, keep profiles, add new miniatures/profiles. Sounds good.
If the plan is to repack things like the Sukeul's being combined into one blister and older stuff being re-sculpted to make them easier to put together (looking at you Gao-Tarsos), then this won't be so painful for Tohaa players. If they are just getting rid of stuff because Tohaa is the least popular faction then this is going to just help keep people away from a less popular faction. I still say part of the reason Tohaa hasn't grown in popularity is due to the lack of attention CB has given it compared to other factions. I really don't think the Spiral Corps will grow the Tohaa if they are really planning on getting rid of that many Tohaa troops from the stores.
Also worth noting is unless the deployment rules for 'mates and 'bombs change, (which I admit is very possible), the Kiuutan could deploy with either or both. Not to mention Mirror Ball for setting up ways to take down MSV units. This unit has a lot of utility.
Yes, I would say it whould be a good idea to cut the production of Zeros, Kriza, Interventor, Intruder and Morlock. Then you whould have the same ammount of good profiles who where now missing by the Tohaa. If you don't play Tohaa, please don't make inappropriate comparisons.
Edited my previous post following a pm by koni. Still not sure what I'll do with my tohaa? (either run to my MFGS to buy missing ref or scrap everything)
I mean people are allowed to comment if they don't play Tohaa, it's a public forum. The profiles aren't going anywhere.
Maybe you're a bit stressed by this huge info load, I will skip your comments regarding the right or not to express an opinion in a forum... Whatever. They could efectively get rid of Zeros, Kriza, Interventor, Intruder and Morlock MINIATURES if I could still use these PROFILES. There are, indeed, Moran, Bandit, Morlock and Uberfallkomando miniatures that I am not using at all and proxying because my own alternative amuse me more. So far, while a profile is valid, you could play it. In addition, if a faction is receiving new profiles and miniatures, is far from being abandoned. If you don't know which miniatures I am using to cover my Nomads profiles, please don't make innappropiate comments. ;)
Thank you Anaris :) Some Tohaa SKU's are being discontinued, not the entire range. Also, Tohaa is receiveing the miniatures & profiles from Spiral Corps (with some options being exclusive for Spiral only). But there's no mention anywhere to repacks/rescultps of those old discontinued SKUs. Now is time for Spiral Corps, guys :)
