If I was wish listing then my list of what to do to NCA would basically look exactly like this. But my expectations are also in line with where @Teslarod ends up here.
It's part of the background that I really like, the Space Vatican sectorial has both the Swiss Guard and the Inquisition at its disposal.
So after all this wishlisting, seems no NCA update coming with the DF book. Just QK and Corregidor. So sad...
The deal with us, Infinity players, is the exact same one as with two brothers in an old joke: A guy had two sons, an optimist and a pessimist. One year, on their birthday, he decided to test their character. For the pessimist he bought a bunch of cool toys, while filling the optimist's room knee-deep with manure. After the boys went into their rooms he secretly checked up on them. The pessimist was sitting in the middle of the room, surrounded by toys, and complained loudly: "this one is shitty, it'll break soon, I don't like this one's colour, this one requires batteries, all made in China, meh, meh, meh." The guy sighed and went to check the optimist's room. The boy was shovelling manure around with a wild grin on his face. "What are you doing???" - the father asked. And boy went: "Looking for a pony!"
Just because it’s likely not coming *in* the book doesn’t mean it won’t come at the same time as the book.
Blah blah. Real life example: 100$ child gift: kids spends like 10 minutes playing the toy 10$ spend on pump for air-mattrace: kids spends already 2h playing with it (and trying to blow up few things in the process of overloading them with air pressure) Moral: Only because CB tries to make something playable and fun doesn't ensure that the result is worth playing/investing.
Also, cats having more fun with the box their new scratching post came in than with the scratching post itself. But the real point is that 1) there's no pleasing some people, and 2) we can have different opinions what is and isn't playable. Hold back that salt a bit, please.
I'm surprised that single comment of "yet" (especially coming from me after MO 3rd Offenisve "redo"), sparked such outrage then. Luckily for NCA it's in good place, even if some of the units could use some simple "spicing up" (Auxilias moslty, Uhlan, maaaby Squalo). NCA can do some nice and strong lists even without touching Bolts (which is a shame and loss of 9 available models). So whatever CB do, hopefully it won't actually damage NCA (as it will be apparently only changes to link compositions). So in the end, probably NCA change will be mostly irrelevant.
It's not outrage, it's just that seeing salty remarks in every thread PanO changes come up in - even though the last updates were very good (and yes, I know MO can be argued about) - is tiring. If NCA changes don't warrant mentioning in the video they will probably be pretty minimal. I'm expecting stuff similar to what ASA got. As you've said, NCA is in a good place, and I agree with the unit assessment, only exchanging Aquila for Uhlan. We'll see what will happen.
Oh yeah, I've forgot about Aquila even though it's just in front of me constantly on my desk (it never saw game table unfortunetaly). Problem of Uhlan is that it's in the same sectorial as Swiss HMG.
For me the additional speed, durability and Feuerbach are enough of an argument for it. YMMV, though. It could use some weapon upgrade.
Burst 2 + Camo does the trick. I was thinking about it's main weapon. Multi Spitfire would be nice ;)
For the Uhlan, but I am talking about the Feuerbach in general. Just liked the old rangebands more, because they set it apart from other AT options...only B3 was missing to make it perfect.
I think NCA wasn't mentioned in the video because the video was only about whats in the new book. NCA changes might just be a bonus we are getting. I don't expect anything major. Just some basics like Orcs + Fusiliers link. Let us hope the Bolts get some much needed love.
