So I can't do this kind of thing without over doing this kind of thing. Sahyadri-Lusikka Opportunities is the owning corporation. Among other interests, SLO maintains a deniable back channel between biotech corporate interests in Panoceania and the infamous Praxis Laboratories of Bakunin. Khandra Hazard Control is their security subsidiary; specializing in Kidnapping, Search, & Rescue operations. I was going to make a full graphic sectorial break down for Khandra but given recent events (ahem) I went with plain text. SLO-KHC SECTORIAL ARMY LIST 1 Valerya 1 Knauf 4 Regulars (core, CSU) 4 Brawlers (core, Haris) 1 Hexa 3 CSU 3 Tomcats 3 Bagh Mari (haris) 2 Akalis 1 Prowlers 1 Anaconda 2 Zeroes 1 Bran Do Castro 1 Meteor 1 Lunokhod 1 Tsyklon 2 Peacemaker (Basic Remotes) Knauf may join any Haris 0-1 Bagh Mari Wildcard per team
This looks nice, I'd play that as well. Personally I think I like those rumours we're hearing about Foreign Company, Tunguska troops really tie well into the whole "Corporate Black Ops" theme. Now, if I were to go the "Hexahedron Wetwork Team" route... Regulars - AVA 4, Core (hardened military vets specialized in area control, infowar, and assymetric warfare) Brawlers - AVA 4, Core, Haris (typical mercenary grunts, there to operate heavy weapons and fill most body bags) Hexas - AVA 2, XO option (overseers, making sure mission goes according to plan) CSU - AVA 2, Wildcard (1) (Hexahedron-controlled assets within Hypercorps, often acting as guides and advisors for the strike teams) Echo Bravo - AVA 2 (for when we might need something up our sleeve and behind enemy back at the same time) Highlander Caterans - AVA 1 (less talktative than all those mercenary snipers) Trauma Doc - AVA 1, Special - can join Regular or ORC link (suit up, doc, black suits are asking for a medic) Machinist - AVA 1, Special - can join Regular or ORC link (suit up, Sparky, black suits are asking for a techie) Bagh-Mari - AVA 3, Haris (special forces leased by the agency, moving in the shadows while other units spread mayhem) Druze - AVA 4, Core, Haris (doing the job since 1017, no questions asked) ORCs - AVA 3, Duo, Haris, Special - 1 can join Regular link (when you need loyal muscle more than expendable one) Gecko - AVA 2 (those can't be our machines, we've sold them all off to Nomads!) Hunzakuts - AVA 2 (they often work with the Druze and don't cost too much extra) Croc Men - AVA 1 (another military unit 'requisitioned' for a special mission) Locusts - AVA 2 (paramilitary Hexahedron operatives, probably the first troops to reach any objective) Rui Shi - AVA 1 (small perk of aiding JSA, less suspicious than PanO Armbots, too) Lu Duan - AVA 1 (ditto) Pathfinder - AVA 1, Wildcard Sierra - AVA 1 Clipper - AVA 1, Wildcard Fugazi - AVA 2 Mulebots - AVA 2 Yaozao - AVA 2 (came packed with the Yaoxie, might as well use them instead of Palbots) No characters (stand out too much), no cheap and unreliable chaff, plenty of professional violence to spread around.
Regulars and Fusilier are active duty military, the Securitate were rumored to be part of the sectorial.... Military and security work are very different, cant imagine CB putting a third line troop with no thematic connection when there is already two security forces in that role.
Well, I think the Aristos in the Foreign Company just bring allong their Unit Types ('pals'). And as there are two Aristos that are Chimeras (8-Ball and Final Boss)... Croc Men might be because of Koorie. So.... What (else) do we have? Major Luna (Haqq, but no clue what unit type 'Sword of Allah' is) Maximus (Pano, maybe S5?, some Ajax-Style Melee-Orc?) Miyamoto Mushashi (Recreation, so he's unique) 8-Ball (Nomad Chimera) Hexx3r (Nomad Reverend Custodie) Gata (Pano, some Skirmisher from Acontecimento) Parvati (created by ALEPH, maybe some Sophotect with dual SMGs?) Wild Bill (from Ariadna, but as far as I know he's a recreation as well) Valkyrie (Pano, from Svalarheima, some Assault NBW Berserker?) Hannibal (?) Laxmee (Nomads, Moran Hacker) Señor Massacre (totally not Deadpool, from Corregidor) Padre-Inquisidor Mendoza (Pano MO (Hospitaler?) with HFT and/or Vulkan?) Murtair (Ariadna Wulver) Kozmo (JSA, S5 or even TAG, Remote Presence, MSV2, maybe AD, maybe even with Explode LX) Taowu (Yu Jing?, Holoprojector L2?) Dart (female Legolas) Bixie (Yu Jing Skirmisher with MSV2 and Superjump?) Prysm (Pano, from Svalarheima. No clue what unit type might fit.) Eclypse (?, some TO-Camo Infiltrator with Eclipse (I mean, it's in the name!) Grenades and KHD?) Oberon (lesser AI/Geist, created by ALEPH?, some supportive Hacker) Shona Carano (PanO, from Neoterra, maybe some Melee Bolt?) Koorie Queen (Pano (Earth), her father was a Croc Man, she has some Vorpal CCW) Final Boss (Nomads, Chimera as well) Bachmann (?) Hammerhead (?)
I don't think it takes a terminal stretch of the imagination to use the term 'Regulars' to refer to troops trained in the Acontecimento Regulars but who are now employed privately. There's precedent as well for there being different profiles or even just a slightly altered emblem when one troop appears in different sectorials in similar capacities.
First off, Aristeia features the civilian part of Infinity universe. Not everything has a direct correlation to Infinity units. Major Lunah is already in the game. "Sword of Allah" is Haqqislam military. Maximus wears a sports version of Swiss Guard armour, at least that's what it looks like to me. Definitely not ORC, since he promotes Moto.tronica, not Omnia Research Corp. Wild Bill's origin is unknown. Maybe USARF, maybe a recreation, maybe just a LARPer. However there are USARF Desperadoes that fit the "cowboy" role. Hannibal is from NeoTerra. Kosmo may have been disassembled after the Uprising. Dart is already in the game, she's an Acontecimento rich kid with hunting hobby turned athlete turned Post-Human. Eclypse is from NeoTerra. She's a corporate mascot, not a military unit. Shona is busy instructing Aquila Guard show to fight in CC. She's not very good at it. Bachmann and Hammerhead are from Bourak. Haqqislam already uses Viral a lot. I have nothing to comment on the rest. There was an article about Human Sphere thematic teams that reveals released characters' origins. https://aristeiathegame.com/blog/item/611-human-sphere-thematic-teams
Maximus is actually wearing bits of TAG armor as well. The chest plate is from the Tikbalang, for example! Also, that comment about Kosmo makes me really sad lol. I imagine/hope he (the bot)/she (the pilot) could find refuge on Neoterra.
Also, I think it's worth mentioning that the timeline of Aristeia and Infinity are not in sync. Aristeia's current "year" is actually many years in the past. That's why Dart is a bit older now, for example. It's possible that once the Combined Army invades in Daedalus' Fall, many Aristos either retire or joined some form of military unit (Dart) or mercenary corp (Hannibal/Valkyrie/Laxmee).
Their dirt cheap in points, and suppress as well as a multi rifle. Even in the Active they're a solid weapon if you can get within 8" The short range does limit them somewhat but when they're on Infiltrators or units that'll be guarding your DZ they're an absolute steal.
1. They are incredibly cheap weaponry in terms of points 2. Multi ammo means they are effective against 1 wound skirmishers (Shock) and effective against heavily armored targets (AP) 3. Suppressive fire
SMGs are one of the hot issues right now. But I find, in most circumstances, a Combi Rifle is a superior weapon when actually playing the game. The SMG is strongest when list building (due to the discount) and when you need to apply that specialist ammunition, and have the luxury of getting within 0-8. In my experiences, most targets that you want to apply Shock or AP to are really nasty within 0-8... Dogged Warbands, Nanopulsing ALEPH troops, TAGs with heavy flamethrowers, etc. The SMG packs a lot of utility and is a supreme weapon for keeping cost down on profiles that would otherwise be too inflated, but it has negative tradeoffs too.
Making an attractive short-ranged alternative to ubiquitous combi rifles makes combi rifles better without changing their stats or reducing their points cost. SMGs are very smart game design.
Hmm. Thank you all for your insightful comments, and apologies for posting that question in the wrong thread xD
Sure dude, i`m just giving my opinion, have no idea wat will happen in the end. Is just that they are really similar to 2 other units in the same rol, similar price and more interesting that Have a thematic reason to be there (speaking of Securitate and CSU). All that we know until now speaks of extravagant, eccentric, corporate, showmanship, etc.... and the regulars are foot soldiers from a farm planet, really good in what they do, but not looking good while doing it. If you know of any fluff connection that i didnt see that can help, but the 2 aristos working for Foreign Company are from Sval and Neoterra, so i still dont understand why they want jungle fighter trained troops, thats all.
