I know @psychoticstorm wants this to cool down but I want to add my two cents because this kind of situation seems to happen often. @kanluwen wasn't remotely demanding imo. Repeating a point every time it becomes relevant doesn't mean anything beyond the point itself. The two posters I've quoted above may not like his opinion, but they're the ones escalating the conversation. It's not like everyone was talking about kittens and Kan turned it into how CB runs their business. Hearing Storm try to calm these conversations down by not taking sides and telling everyone to take a break seems like a very weak stance to me. If someone pokes me in the eye with a stick, I'm probably going to fight back. In these situation, it's fine to tell all involved to take a break, but I think it's worth noting that someone was provoked and has retaliated. Because those doing the provoking are committing the greater offense. I would expect a moderator to be able to pickup on that. I would hope any intervention on their part would point that out. Not pointing that out gives the impression that everyone is equally at fault. If I'm the one defending myself in these situations, it typically just makes me angrier, even if I keep my mouth shut in the end.
I am sorry you have not been enjoying the game as much lately, and I partially agree with some of your points, however this is a bridge too far. The MO update is nowhere near Matt Ward levels of bad. Kanluwen came in with strong, aggressive and insulting language. Other posters rose to the bait and came back with equal vitrol. Psychoticstorm was right to call for everyone to calm down. And that is all I am going to say on the matter, before I too get sucked into the whirlpool. (anger leads to the dark side)
If that's true you do realise that you've just pushed back the release by another month while they change the packaging melt down all the sakiels and replace them with kamael...
That's a good one liner. Could you elaborate a bit on your dismissal? My Vanilla Aleph got buffed by basically 2 free Orders and they were already strong. I've never had issues with Vanilla PanO, SAA or NCA, but all of them have become significantly better yet still get outclassed or matched by my shiny new Varuna. I've yet to determine if Vanilla PanO is suddenly up there with the others, might as well be the case. Handing out Libertos in its current form to most Vanilla Factions was another mistake. It's a terrific Profile and pretty much perfectly optimized. This is not how generic Mercs available to Vanilla Factions used to be designed. See for example Knauf or the Cube Jäger. My complaint with the game is not that a single Faction is too strong or too weak. Some Factions became better balanced simply by not getting anything. Tohaa hasn't gotten anything for quite some time, yet most of us would probably still rank them in the top 3 Factions/Sectorials. The issue is that there is a gap which keeps increasing in between the extremes. The Morat update didn't really bridge the gap, neither did the MO one. This being Infinity two years ago someone won Interplanetario with old MO and a Black Friar MSR. At the time most people would have agreed that MO is not top shelf material and the Black Friar MSR is one of the worst choices PanO has to offer. But this is Infinity and it's not pretty much statistically impossible to win with a B tier army the way it would have been in 40k 5th ed. Dice and personal Skill have mattered then and obviously still do, just a little less than was the case 2 years ago and this trend is what I do not like at all.
Instead of the resculpted Hatail Spec-Ops, they could have included a Special Edition Sakiel in the box. After all, you could even use it to proxy the Spec-Ops if you want to use that ITS extra if, for some reason, you don't like the Sakiel.
I could but I don't think that you're approaching the discussion with the right kind of attitude for fruitful debate if you think your position holds a kind of objective truth. If you're prepared to say "this is just my opinion backed up by anecdotal experience" then well okay, that's the playing field and I would engage with that.
This is also totally not the thread for rehashing a balance discussion that was recently had in the SWC thread. This thread is for fried foods, swords, biltong, and the occasional bit of speculation!
