Set me toyour ignore list and you will no longer see it. Seems to be the main thing of some users to complain about things. Edit: It was a thoughtful decision to open a new thread about the book in the news section, cause rhe general monthly news seems to be a magnet for food discussion and troll posts and is sometimes very crowded. And I add to every of the three threads cause not everyone reads all threads, especially if it's in a faction subforum
The title is something out of Dues Ex. The title font is like robocop mixed with me messing around with gradients in MS word back in the late 90s/early 2000s. The cover art is... something something colour saturation problems? Certainly going to stick out on the shelf when displayed next to third offensive or uprising. I like that each of the 3 books looks so distinctly different but I just hate the graphics design on the Spiral Corps box and Daedalus Fall book. Not sure if they're just poor mockups or they've intentionally gone for a more alien/visually displeasing for humans theme with this book. I'm curious to know where the rumoured "Asheron Falls" nickname came about from. Is Asheron significant in the lore the way Daedalus is?
The Acheron blockade/Jump gate is the one between Paradiso and (IIRC) Earth, Archeron Falls has been the unofficial working title of the "next book" since pretty much Campaign: Paradiso was released and ended with a picture of an Anathematic moodily standing on the bridge of a starship studying a hologram of Earth.
Ah ok, thanks for the clarification. I misunderstood and assumed Daedlus falls was the official name of [Acheron Falls] but I guess they are different books. Although I thought I read somewhere on these forums in the last 24hrs that Daedlus falls retcons Paradiso but again, could have just misunderstood.
I m sure once daedalus has fallen, the triumvirate will pull out their fancy schmancy wormhole manipulation device and give the ca a nice taste of the dawn treatement. Having the ca move unhindred into the human sphere would otherwise surely throw a spanner into their search for the penny arcade
Just as Bostria said, the puzzle is piecing together. Wormhole collapsed, so no more tohaa presence in human sphere as well as in army builder. Just in NA2. Отправлено с моего Redmi 6A через Tapatalk
Koni has said the Tohaa aren't going the way of the Exrah. Plus they'd need to be present in the Human Sphere to be in NA2?
On the apostrophe side, I was taught the posessive for words ending in ..s was ..s'. I understand that is the case with US english also, but perversely enough UK schools now (as opposed to when I were a lad) seem to teach ..s's, which is just an awful mangling of the language. Don't believe me? Ok, presume for a second that Daedalus is a family name. How do you refer to the family group? "The Daedaluses" Now, how do you refer to the family home? "The Daedaluses's house" (this all came about because of Bridget Jones, her diary and Hollywood not being able to speak or write english)
That phrasing on @Ben Kenobi 's post above, with the poster thing, is very odd; it's a message alerting units to the fact that a gate has collapsed, but then mentions that "Daedalus has Fallen", as if the enemy had captured it. Mayhaps the Tohaa got wiped out on the home front and the artichokes bombed the wormhole shut to save forces in the Sphere? Earnestly hoping that's the case, the revelations about Tohaa having that tech would finally give us a good lore reason to include them in the free-for-all murderfests that are the online campaigns. They've always felt a bit left out on that front. Now I'm stuck imagining that next book is just going to be a very long description of a guy falling down stairs. On the apostrophe front, anything is fine unless the other guy knows you are wrong and cares enough to point it out- usually only a problem if you are writing for publication or some other situation in which being technically correct is important. English is so horrendously complex I've seen people using words pronounced, spelt and in the wrong context for years without anyone bothering to correct them because we all knew what they were talking about.
ACHeron not ASHeron. Akheron blockade not "Ash"eron. It's the same "ch" as in "Achilles", and is written in Greek as the stylised "x". As in one of the 5 rivers of the (Greek myth) underworld (and the name of the colony on LV-426 in Aliens (the colonists chose the name). It's the name of the wormhole route from Paradiso to Earth. "Acheron Falls" has been a "working title" for years with CB. It's a placeholder until they pick a better one. It's as much the title of "the next book" as "blue harvest" was a star wars movie title. As for Daedalus ... He's just the dad of a moody teen (Icarus - who wouldn't take his dad's advice and who ended up all melty and dead.).
Slight fluff correction on the Archeron Blockade here. It is not the wormhole that connects Paradiso to Earth it is the wormhole that connects Paradiso to a Combined Army controlled system. There are no wormhole connections from Paradiso to Earth. Connections from Paradiso are Svelarheima, Human Edge, and Bourak. If the CA wanted to get to Earth it would have to get to the other systems connected to Paradiso. We have a Hannibal quote... so the possibility of seeing the Foreign Company seems high. You say Slade, I say Deadpool aka Senor Massacre.
