Interresting time as my main force is Qk. No fear just looking forward to a small rehaul like Acon got
If we get a goodbye overhaul I might be ok with some stuff of QK going oop (depends on the overhaul naturally) ... but I will never shelf the coolest army out there (not even for my newly started Ikari). All my Haqq-Minis (bar the Hassassins) are in QK Colors ... even Maggie and Naffatuns ... they will never take this away from me ... my main army will not be shelfed, even if someone in CB-HQ decides to circle stuff oop. (and with my Nomads in QK Colors I could easily start CJC any time) have to agree with @Melchior : interesting times ... still hoping for an update without getting rotated out nevertheless
Intruders are very iconic and important to Nomads. Removing them would be like removing Swiss Guard from PanO. Almost the same goes for Morans and Tomcats.
I honestly can't see any of the three motherships getting the MRRF treatment anytime soon. As others have said, it's only happened to the factions that have gotten a fourth Sectorial, plus the ones that've disappeared so far have been the least popular Sectorial according to ITS stats. For Nomads, that'd be Bakunin by far, and Bostria's already declared them "safe." I figure until we get the Black Hand or whatever the next Nomad Sectorial might be, Corregidor and Bakunin will stay in production.
Aren't Swiss Guard literally stolen Hac Tao technology? I mean, doesn't decrease their rather iconic nature, but it does skew expectations of what that iconography actually says, though ;)
I seem to recall being told that both the Aquila and the Swiss are based off of stolen/reproduced Hac Tao. I could be wrong since nearly all my fluff is acquired at the thrift store, so to speak.
That´s a good point and it will not make it easer to guess which sectorial will replace the merc-idea. Where you got that indications? I would totaly like this - maybe they restart the Operation-Series with this in 2020 ;-) But that would rob us of two more possibilitys for the 5 new sectorials. Maybe the event that is even bigger than the uprising was - will rip some factions apart und the splits will get new sectorials? Neoterra claims itself an independend nation?
Memory says it was Bostria dismissing Svalarheima release because saving that for a two-player box with White Banners. Now, if my memory is reliable enough, that's still not necessarily a decent source because Bostria HAS trolled us with things like that before.
True, the Guilang did get an updated sculpt in Beyond. Unfortunately, I feel that the old sculpts are much better with way more character. I hope future Guilang releases look more old school just at the new scale.
CBs insistence on very slim women makes such models lose a lot of detail. I found the new Guilang to be a high quality translation of the old models, but well... slim
I also think CB should make a few models that are proportioned differently (body fat, etc...) for certain Merc units. The fat Yuan-Yuan was a great step but it is the only one of recent memory to break the mold. Soldiers in armed forces are going to be muscled and thin due to rigorous exercise and hard training regiments so having heavyset frontliners doesn't make sense. Though characters or HVTs can and should be varied for uniqueness.
They were used as line troops to defend the Haqq holdings on Paradiso. And they took heavy loses opposing the CA, especiaqlly when the PanO failed to provide them with support. Despite calling in JSA reinforcements and other NA2 support (some merc companies got virtyually annihillated defending the orbital elevator at Al Hadyyie, IIRC), also, the Hassassins acting as "fire brigade" with the limited assets they had on Paradiso. QK are spread thin, holding the (Haqq sectors of the) front on Paradiso, manning the orbital blockade above it (along with Nomads), as well as providing all the security personnel to various Haqq installations across the Human Sphere. They're tired, worn down, and have lost a lot of men and material. That's about what 3rd Offensive has to tell us. Also, it is basically what happened to Acontaciemento Shock Army: they bore the weight of the fighting, and got worn down by it, so they were pulled out and replaced with VRID in the Paradiso theatre of operations. Which, to my eyes, seems way like a justification to deploy Ramah Task Force to the Paradiso front, and pull QK troops out for reorganization (reworked listing, especially with new Fireteam options), retraining (a couple new abilities, maybe a few new profiles) and re-equipping. As I wrote elsewhere - QK, as opposed to MRRF, is a vast organization, and disperesed between a myriad of places. This means they can't be dealt a crippling blow (like MRRF was, losing De Hell Group), but it means the bulk of their assets are bound elsewhere, safeguarding Haqq installactions across the Sphere, and thus can not vacate those posts and get redeployed to Paradiso. And there aren't enough of them left on Paradiso to continue providing any amount of effectivve defense against CA anymore.
