Hmm, on the first that's what I typically call "overextending". I'm an expert on it, which is why I won't get much higher than mid-field during Nordic Masters :p

On the second, Nomads will now be able to set up Jammers which will seriously impair the Haidao's ability to wreck havoc. Add in that a Nomad is able to overwhelm you - a lowly Securitate has 31% chance of disabling a Haidao that ventures into a Repeater if the Haidao can't summon enough burst to challenge them!

BTS9 on the Interventor goes a long way on making them stronger than the Danavas.

On your active turn it's quite easy to get to these absurd mods, as exemplified earlier with Kerr Nau. Hell, even a Zero can get to a very dangerous mod if you use Kalleidoscope+Repeater+Surprise Attack+Redrum (another -12).

The thing is, Nomads get better repeater coverage than most of these factions (Onyx does come in closer) while at the same time being able to bring more hackers who are just, if not more competent than the average. Sure, they don't get brutes like Kerr Nau, but what they do get is cheap and efficient and gets the job done in less orders than most other factions can.

Well, the best JSA Hacker is the EVO-Rem...

Don't forget that some really good hackers can get Sixth Sense because of being in a Core Link, like the Interventors. So I think the better repeater coverage is more important here than Camo.

Yeah, but the Interventor has a BTS of 9, which makes it really hard to hurt him by hacking. And the cheapest Interventor is a KHD with Lightning (WIP 15 BTS 9) for 20 points...

    1. This is not easy to achieve in pratice, nor is that a good setup, nor is that setup cheap
    2. Kaleidoscope does not stack with Firewall from repeater
    3. Surprise attack only works against non-sixth sense hackers, this is quite significant.
My dude, IA is just he army for you! There's a great incentive to go nuts in your opponents deployment zone with so access to 14+ orders on the same link. The exercise is about making sure that the flank and nearby units are cleared, so he won't easily reach you in his active turn. Much easier said than done, I know. :P

Ninja KHD is awesome though. Take that, an Aragoto AHD, EVO repeater, two sniffer bots and a Sensorbot and you've got great infowar capability. Really solid fast/infiltrating specialists and anti-camo capability too.

I didn't forget. Kerr-Nau doesn't get sixth sense on his own dawg. With regards to the interventor that's a fair point, but I would contend that you will probably never see a core of grenzers unless you play them personally.

Why choose ? In vanilla Nomads you have crazy repeater coverage and up to 4 KHD camo to cover your ass.

(plus AHD TO, AD repeater, WIP 15/BTS 9 HD+ and even a KHD TAG operator)

Nomad is to hacking what Pano is to shooting. Face us and we will fry your brain.

if your HI IA fireteam try to reach my DZ, it will have to face my e/marat ORA, hope you don't mind being Isolated/Imm 2

Yes, mister armchair general. That’s exactly what I’ll do. I’ll do the exact same thing and use the exact same tactic NO MATTER what army I face. I will ALWAYS dive that DZ. it’s not like I used the Zhencha with Climbing Plus to snipe those Mutts, who are pathetically easy to kill with no cover and shock. No no. Only dive.
Such wisdom. Such advice. Teach me senpai.

Would you rather have Mimetism (Maestro) or high Armor (High BTS)?
My comment was in reference to the Interventor being the cheapest access to HD+ so the KHD isn't really a factor in that conversation.

The Repeater coverage is clutch and gives the nod to Nomads for sure.
In Transmission Matrix for example though, the strength of that is pretty well nullified and both CA and Aleph start to really shine with the added strengths of their individual Hackers. Nomads might still have a slight advantage due to the number of low costs units in that situation. Being hit with that many AROs is scary

Against surprise shot active hacking (TO Daysus as baseline), Interventor slightly edges it out for most likely not to get assassinated. Having TAG BTS really helps apparently.

The use of assassination made me think of an interesting point.
Is the Interventor likely to be the LT(I don't have any regular nomad players in my area and I'm only really familiar with Bakunin from my own play with them) and if so would that make them a more priority target for the opponent?

An Interventor is almost always my LT unless I have a specific reason (taking a securitate for hunting party, etc). I honestly think unless you are attacking it when you have the first turn via a non-hacking route (Fiday, etc), it's not worth going for. Killer hackers can mess it up BUT it's not usually that efficient. An HI link with a KHD and tinbot could mess it up really bad, since the Crazy Koala (they are probably going through a moran) won't kill them and they have some modifiers, but most skirmisher KHDs aren't going to have that favorable of a match-up.

If you go second, they will just LT order cybermask themselves.

Oh, good point. Edited my post. Cheers for the catch.

I think I played this incorrectly back when I was running an older iteration of the list, but also found I very rarely needed kaleidoscope except to ensure dominance in absolute infowar v infoware games, where you're usually trying to out-KHD enemy KHDs and so don't get firewall anyway.

For the types of hacking tasks JSA will be doing (i.e., basically none) the Keisotsu HD is fine. Save yourself 8 points for a supportware monkey, and it's linkable which helps a little bit.

In Acon I feel it's more a toss-up, since the Acon Regular with an HD costs a full SWC, and you have a drop troop you might want to drop.

    Yup.

I think there is a decent point made for Haqq to be considered a greater hacking threat due to good WIP and Pitcher/repeater coverage. Not quite as good as Nomads, no, but a strong candidate for second strongest behind Nomads.

I don’t use Mutts, i use camoed heckler. Hard to snipe him when camoed in the middle of 4-6 other camo markers.

The simple fact that you didn't think of the heckler is quite the proof that he is likely to surprise you (as he did to many of my opponents)

PS : an ariadna player could reach similar result with a scout minelayer

The lack of camo KHD hurt them a lot in the infowar. Having a silent, camo and a KHD is the equivalent for infowar of having a camo spit or a camo HMG in the shooting war.

Haqq can be great against hackable target (HI, TAG) but will be crushed in infowar by an offensive hacking list

..No not really.. When you talk about the E/Marat and use the word DZ, you'll have literally everyone in the world who will instantly think of the most iconic DZ E/Marat unit.. The Mutts.. I have no idea why you think people would think of the Heckler nor that you think it's proof of anything.

Maybe I'll take a look at IA's massive Tinbot support and a Shang Ji AHD later on.
