Likewise. Someone in another thread said that QK weren't getting MRRF'd but I've watched all the videos (I think) and don't remember that. I distinctly remember him saying that Bakunin and Hassassins weren't getting MRRF'd. As the fanatic peat has been discussing QK and Corregidor being on the way out I took it as a subtle confirmation of the theorying.
There's only ever two 300 point boxes in production. Aside from QK, Corregidor is the next sectorial to be retired. It's basically complete but it won't stop people from wailing like they're family has been murdered.
Its possible QK get reworked without axing them. But it has not been declared if they will be safe. I think the assumption on their safety is that Haqq only has 2 Sectorials currently, and still have sku space.
Worth noting is that the only 2 sectorials that have been shelved (Exrah was a different situation as they were removed) were for factions that gained a 4th sectorial around the same time. There is no indication of Nomads getting a 4th, nor of Haqqislam getting 2 at once, to facilitate the need to shelve any faction right now.
You cannot look at each faction and point to the amount of sectorials they have. You have to look at the whole game, the whole line of models as a single continuous stack which is now rather full. When one sectorial is added it adds pressure to bump another.
Yet the facts remain. What I describe is the information we have. Everything else is speculation, including my interpolation of said facts. We know they shelved 2 sectorials while adding 5 new ones last year (8 if you toss in the Mercs, Druze was close enough to count). The onyl 2 older sectorials that were discontinued, but remained playable, belonged to the two factions that were bumped up to 4 total playable Sectorials. There is nothing to indicate that it was done that way for total line balancing as opposed to factional production balancing and looking at either direction is up to personal bias.
I can't see Corregidor getting retired...you have to remember Starco which is a quite new sectorial shares 5 units with Corregidor. I'm pretty sure they aren't gonna touch those units.
So we have three Sectorials left to sepuculo erm speculate. If I remember correctly Bostria mentioned in the clips that: - one (or more) sectorials will go the way of the MRRF - Hassassin will stay, Kahnate is no theme yet - Bakunin will stay - caledonia will have no releases in 19 - one early teaser was (I think not in the clip, but that 2019 articel on the website) that the next battle box is shas (CA) vs. thoaa because they are the factions that are currently not in a two-player-box. - there will be a new merc company - there will be no O-12 yet So we could assume, that Nomads will not forced to give a sector (not sure about CJC). QK and Caledonia are possible candidates. CA Sectors make not much sense (but this will mean nothing, it´s CB). NCA is a candidate. I am totaly not into Tohaa fluff, but if they have the potential for a sectorial, that could mean, the triumvirat is one of the five. This or something other for Tohaa will make sense, because "year of the alien, something cosmic happens, tohaa in the eye of the storm". The new merc-company can count as a sector. Last year they did not, but this will mean nothing ;-) That would left one. White Banner is a possibility because the No.2 Hyper-Power has only two sectorials at the moment. Svarlaheima, because Pan O has to be on top. Or CB will surprise us with something completly different.
Last year the "5 New Sectorials" were all ones that got a Starter box of some sort. The release of those starters was also the marking point for the 5 "N"s on the schedule, not when they reached Army (Varuna might have had them switched, I can't recall off the top of my head). That also continued with IA as the rules were released well before the "N" that came up at the beginning of this year and marked the Starter release in Jan. Given that I would expect Mercs like those we have seen so far to not count. At least not unless they come with a starter.
https://www.infinitythegame.com/blog/item/613-what-will-2019-bring-from-corvus-belli Just reread this. They do say there will be a Battle Pack for GenCon and that we will be "having to say goodbye to the ones that are less played by the community". I'll retract all previous speculation against those happening that I have made.
Double checking the store, the Operation:Weather System boxes are listed as “battle pack”s, like the article is saying will be at GenCon.
