As someone who was at the seminar, i can say with 98% certainty that the triumvirate will not be this year, nor will this be a "year of tohaa" other than narrative event progress for the most part. Bostria said that the Triumvirate will have many new exotic aliens and creatures that don't fit into the mold of being "humanoid" and are taking longer to design because of that.
I remember some seminar last year, they said they won't release them 2018. Everyone in the German forum said this as well... so I was curious. But now the new uploaded video now confirms it. Not 2018 if they just start working on them. So Sectorial No. 5 in 2018 is still a big question mark to me.
It wouldn't be first time that CB gave us 2 completely opposite answers for the same question. Same thing happened when CB took away Exrah's profiles. And here is the new Kurgat sculpt. Bostria said we will see 2 Kurgat models this year.
Having seen the new Shikami sculpt, who do I talk to in order to convince CB to allow 4 Shikami in JSA? Who cares about winning? Rule of cool all the way!
Having looked through the images from the seminar, the new Blackjack is exactly what I wanted. The first one had most of his bulk on one side, this one is much better. Zoe and Pi-well will be an instabuy for my Bakunin. I had spent some time trying to come up with a good conversion, but came up empty. A new good, looking, official model is far preferable. Wardriver and Asawira are solid and I'm happy to have a model for the Wardriver finally. The Shikami, especially with hat and his sheath in hand is a strong contender of becoming my first JSA model. The pose is just too cool.
@colbrook , after seeing latest seminars, I think you shoud rename the thread's name to something more accurate like "March towards an empty Tohaa year". I can't belive that @Magonus "leak" turned out to be very optimistic.
I'm not playing either Tohaa, Shas or MRRF but nevertheless I'm very disappointed by the lack of support and further delays. Since I've started playing in 2015 only Tohaa seen some movement in terms of new releases but still really low compared to all the others armies. This feels like the company-that-should-not-be-named neglecting of certain armies. Good to hear that there is some development in plans for the Tohaa. I'm afraid it might be too little too late for some players. Enough ranting, now for the releases: Zoe is an instabuy, not a fan of Pi-Well but looks decent enough to field. Kurgats are finally here and two releases this year! I'm on the fence with the pose. What is he supposed to be doing? Probably won't stop me from buying him. Shikami is good, but not as good as the previous one. Would be nice if they sticked a second CCW on him somewhere. Asawira shoulderpads have really grown from the concept. Those things look like seriously limiting field of vision. Otherwise nice release.
So Varuna, Tunguska and Vedic are 3 of the 5. Check out the Australia video about 24 min in (in the aleph vedic Question) Bostria says something along the lines of "we've talked about Varuna Tunguska Vedic, maybe they are coming this year" there's a split second where a YES appears on the screen
I guess the Asawira being a single release is because the Spitfire is the Haris profile and can link with Muyibs. Pun accidentally intenderd.
obviously trying to swat a very annoying spacefly any idea what the other kurgat release is going to be? if its AC, can we hope for it to link??
No idea, Bostria just said there will be another one. Both MK12 and AC are available so they could do any. I would guess MK12 comes first as the weapon design has changed. AC in new dossier looks like the old one. Linkable AC would be great but I'm afraid chances are slim. Profiles reworks don't happen all that often.
Carlos answering whether we'll see Vedic or Tunguska sectorials this year. Correction: Question was about Vedic only, but Carlos also mentioned Tunguska and Varuna.
We all knew that Varuna and Tunguska were incoming, it's nice to see Vedic in the mix as well. If they're releasing two new sectorials via another two-player box, my guess is that those won't be factions already present in such a box (Ice Storm, Red Veil). Soooooo, my guess is we get Kazakhs v. Vedic. Which would actually work in a cool low-tech v. hi-tech sort of way. Something along the lines of 3x Daks, 1x Garuda, 1x Deva, 1x Dasyu, and 3x Line Ks, 1x VK, 1x Tankhunter, 1x Scout. Plus a couple of shiny new units exclusive to the box. That's my theory, at least. :-)
Interrupter stated that Aleph (and Tohaa) will not be in a two player box because they are not part of the core rule book**. If shas hadn't been outright stated not to be coming this year I would have said that it was combined/Shas/EI vs Ariadna/Ruskies/FRRM (doubly so with the new direfoe box) Now however, I'm wondering whether icestorm might get replaced for a new PanO\Nomad box (**this was two years ago mind)
