Other Mentioned Forces What are some of the forces mentioned in fluff that don’t currently have models or armies for? The ones that I know are: O-12 White Banner Triumvirate PanO Svarlarheim (do they have a name) Khanate Black Hand (I think they just have fingers in everything and not their own force) Carlos mentioned some NA2 ones like a Bounty Hunter group.
Van Orton’s Foreign Company, perhaps the most high-profile mercenary outfit in the Sphere, famous for providing security for a number of showbiz celebrities. (Hannibal was 2iC for a while before becoming an Aristo) Varangian Guard, a mercenary force made up primarily of Ariadnans, presumably the uniform includes a well groomed beard.
I'm sort of hoping for them to have red earrings, as that would be the closest we'll likely get at having Swedish representation in this game.
EI for sure. I can't remember if Sygmaa army was mentioned anywhere, or if they provide just a few units for the CA.
We got any details or fluff on the Earth Bastion Army? I thought NCA was the army from Earth. What's the fluff on these guys? The spanish forums has a list of other potential NA2 sectorials: - Dahshat Company (compañia Merc dirigida por un señor de la seda) => Merc company led by the Silk Man (no idea who this is) - Foreigner Company (La compañia mercenaria de las "super estrellas" (personalidades Merc) dirigidas por Van Orton) => the mercenary company of the "super stars" i.e. merc personalities - Varangian Guard (Compañia de base Caledonia con William Mckellar como lider) => Company based in Caledonia led by William Mckellar (no idea who this is) - Beyham Resources (La compañia madre de los Kaplan) => Mother company of the Kaplans (personally really looking forward to these guys) - SecLock Contingencies (La compañia que ofrece los servicios de los CSU) => Company offering the services of the CSU
NCA is Neoterra. So far EBA only appears in the RPG. However, it makes sense, since PanO has an army per planet.
Fenrig Imperative is a dalek-like race that's fought with the Tohaa before that the artichokes really really don't want to join up with the EI/CA. Nemesis is a rogue fragment of the EI that caused a massive civil war in the Ur Hegemony at one point. It's thought exterminated but if even fragments of its presence exist they could rebuild.
Sure, but a) which part of Scandinavia* and b) Scandinavia heritage or Scandinavian word**? * it's a bit like how it matters whether it's India or Pakistan, or Mexico or USA. ** "Valkyrie" is a Scandinavian word, but still very much a piece of US military equipment with little to no Scandinavian heritage. The US loves using Norse names for their stuff.
There are an awful lot of Scandahooligans in the US, not to mention the German-speakers here. Friend of mine is a member of the Sons of Norway in Seattle, they've hosted the Norwegian king before. He'd specifically come to the US to visit them, it wasn't a State Visit thing! I was raiding Icelandic for unit names when I was working on Svalarheima Sectorial ideas, since Icelandic is the closest remaining language to Old Norse.
Yeah... The Norse stuff is very diluted into the pan-European mythology thanks to among others Wagner. Hell, I can see O-12 sourcing something as predictable as a "Viking" unit from old Earth and it wouldn't be as bad as trying to source units with names from Norse mythology and calling them "Scandinavian".
The only thing we really know about EBA is that if we should find KotHS outside of MO, it is there. As they protect all the holy places of the NeoVatican, a lot of them are from our current holy places. And they are known to have fought a lot on Earth and in its orbit during the Neocolonial Wars. Maybe we could find Santiagos too. ORCs for sure along with Squalos and Fusiliers. But if we follow the story, Human Sphere will be in dreaded times the moment the Solar System stationed armies intervene.
Moving off topic, but I'm just too curious... @Mahtamori what makes the varingian guard swedish specifically? Weren't they vikings, as in before the first kingdom? Didn't get the reference to the earrings either, guess my google-fu is too weak...
