The fact is that, in order to get the most out of this game, you really have to play multiple factions. The more factions you play, the more frequently you will get updates. Not only that, but it will make you a better player overall. I can only speak from my own experience, but I only learned to appreciate certain units in my primary faction (Ariadna) by playing other factions. I actually like this. Rather than competitive players hopping from faction to faction trying to chase the flavor of the month, you can play anything (and everything) and enjoy the game more as a result of it. And obviously it makes sense for CB as well...I'm glad they haven't succumbed to the temptation of using power creep to sell models. Regarding Tohaa, the reasonable gripe is more about miniatures releases than rules - they're really more or less complete from a competitive / rules standpoint. CB's official ruling on proxies is extremely broad, so I guess there's less pressure to release models. At the same time, if you're only buying into one faction, what are they losing by holding off on new Tohaa releases...a couple boxes of sales?
No, thank you, I have one faction with 66% of unpainted miniatures and absolutely no intention to have any more. Wait, are you a CB employee trying to make me buy more brilliant miniatures?
The fact is that, until recently, every Faction in the game used the regulary get releases in the stores. at least one thing every two months (even Tohaa, although for us it was more likeone thing every 2.5 months).
Until recently we were not getting 5new armies every year.. Therefore i don't expect anything more then a starter and two-three regular releases this year for NA2 tohaa
Would tohaa players be happy with new units and models, but no new Tohaa sectorial? I just don't see them ever getting an actual sectorial of Tohaa when the faction itself feels so much like one. I wonder if the current Tohaa list will become an NA2 just to make it clear.
Now this is wild speculation but Tohaa weren't moved to NA2 in the same way JSA has been. So I'm guessing they see us as a more mainline faction (but not necessarily a full faction in the same way as the others). We also haven't heard much about Triumverate sectorial in a while. Of all the factions the only two not in a 2 player starter set now are...Anyone? Combined Army and Tohaa. Year of the Alien? Year of the Alien. I'm going to guess we'll see a CA army featuring some Shasvastii facing down against a Revamped Triumverate idea that has moved away from the Human Merc Centric idea they originally outlined. Possibly with a focus on Visors of all sorts. Given that they'd be facing off against shasvastii I doubt they'd do 2 camo centric forces.
Tomorrow is the German satelite and we could send questions to Our warcors. My questions was "will Tohaa stay As a lone army or are they gonna join another army" I hope my questions will be answered concretly
I wouldn't hold my breath on that though. The trend so far has been an Operation/2-Player box every other year.
Then that could possibly mean a two-player box for each sectorial going head to head. Perhaps too unlikely but CB might plan more Operation boxes in the coming years if they make another one after this upcoming Tohaa one.
It is atm not online. The organizers didn't know if they cauld release it. Think it will be online some point this week.
