Titanfall without Titans.... but why? Actually the wall running was cool, oh, they took that out too.
It is not. Titanfall 3 was never said to be on development, so it cannot be cancelled. This is a different game set in the Titanfall universe, that's it.
It also means there won't be a Titanfall 3 coming. I'm guessing it won't be long before EA shuts down Respawn.
Also, according to this source, Titanfall 3 was definitely in development in 2017 before EA bought Respawn: https://kotaku.com/titanfall-3-is-not-in-the-works-respawn-says-1832336218 So to clarify, now that Apex Legends was launched, Respawn states that Titanfall 3 is not in development. It was for a while, EA bought it, it no longer is. So it was cancelled by EA.
They still have their Star Wars game in development, but that means it's only a matter of time before EA takes them out back and shoots them. EA's handling of the Star Wars license is frankly baffling. It's practically a license to print money and they only thing they've managed to release is a couple of half arsed, re-skinned Battlefield clones!
Finally finished the DA:O main campaign last Sunday. Now, I still have that fourth island swarming with Veks in Into the Breach..
Finally got to play Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance recently (better late than never i guess), and I'll just say it's been a while since I had so much fun with a game. And yeah it's really a shame for Titanfall. It's by far the best FPS franchise of the last few years and EA just decided to kill it for some reasons.
yeah I was pretty bummed by the Apex Legends reveal. I love Titanfall and find BR super boring. I'll stick with Battlefield I guess Saying that I hope Respawn is succesful with it, they are great devs
Considering their founders took Infinity Ward from EA to Activision, then several years later jumped back into bed with EA, they must have seen something like this coming.
So Respawn have announced another game with Titans that isn't Titanfall 3, hopes for a turn based tactics game? Also their Star Wars game is nearing cancellation, no... wait, they said completion, but this is EA so who knows.
I read Premium as "costing money up front" rather than "free but with lots of begging". I think a mobile game would be about as popular as Diablo Immortal
EA are the unicron of publishers. Do they have even any non-spotes non-battlefield IPs left that haven't been eviscerated one way or another?
Do you want to have a full game or have to buy DLCs? Because Destiny 2 really doesn't fill you up unless you have the DLCs. If you just want a FPS, go for Titanfall 2. It's cheap now, the campaign was fun, the Frontier Defense("horde") mode is fun and the normal MP modes are okay. Also giant robots.
Oh well if KOTAKU says it... Nah. Respawn's currently working on Jedi: Fallen Order. Apex Legends was done by a smaller team within Respawn, made up of mostly old school Infinity Ward members.
