Hey guys, I'm still new to the game and have 0 experience in ITS and building a list for it. Next month we will have Rio de Janeiro's first ITS and I need some help building the list for this 3 mission: Unmasking, Quadrant control and Power Pack.
    I currently have:
    1x Mcmurrough
    1x Wallace
    1x Uxia
1x Valerya (being used as a proxy for isobel or wardriver)
    1x Cateran
    1x Grey
    1x Wulver
    2x Mormaers
    2x S.A.S.
    4x Galwegians
    4x Volunteers

    Thanks in advance

Just write 1 or 2 lists as you would play it. Share your thoughts about it and people will help you improve the lists.

I can't decide between the grey core and the mormaer harris, but Úxia, the S.A.S. and the cateran are solid choices

I reckon just about every CHA player would tell you that the APHMG Grey in a core link is an absolute active turn killer. (Though I've had some recent success from using the BSG load-out in the fireteam instead!).

Based on your models & lists, I'd favour the Volunteer core over the Wallace+Highlander version. As long as you can protect Wallace, he can hide in the backfield & then you can really make use of his 'free' coordinated order per turn; put McMurrough + the Galwegians in the group with him & watch them charge!

I usually let McMurrough charge turn one in one flank and swipe the enemy DZ with the chain rifles, never though about using him on a coordinated order. Last game, since I used the Grey core, i let the galwegians throwing "free" smokes with their impetuous orders

I usually run McMurrough with 3+ Galwegians as 'bodyguards'; e.g. the latter can go first to catch AROs if you don't fancy risking the big guy.
All you really need to do is position them to they can put down smoke without catching AROs, after using your other troops to kill those pesky MSV2 enemy units.

PS: If there's a big target, (usually a TAG), then coordinated CC with McMurrough and 3 Galwegians will likely pulverise it.
B4 DAM22 AP+DA attacks on CC23 means the only way the enemy survives is if you're really unlucky with your CC rolls.

Galwegians have beserker so Its not a FtF CC and they get +6 looking for 27. With PH 14 and AP for the damage. they trade very well in all CC.

My point was that McMurrough is better at smashing the bigger targets, (mainly TAGs)...
At best, the Galwegians get DAM18, (if you have full fireteam bonuses), thus forcing your opponent to need 14s, (assuming ARM10 halved from AP), across 5 dice.
On the other hand, McMurrough will be DAM22, (if you choose MA lvl 2), so your opponent will need 18s, across 8 dice.

Therefore I'd suggest that McMurder can still destroy stuff even if he doesn't crit.
(Galwegians are obviously better for smaller stuff - but that's a separate discussion).
