So the Veteran skill allows the user to ignore the effects of Isolated. In the case of HI with Veteran being hit by E/M ammo my local meta has played it that the Immobilized (and disabled when relevant) states are dependent on the Isolation and thus the Veteran HI ignores them as well. My question to the forum is how widespread is this interpretation? I've seen it played the opposite way in battle reports and was wondering if there is a general consensus on this interaction or if it's a regional matter.
Veteran allows you to ignore Isolated, not E/M. E/M has two separate effects when you fail the BTS roll, Isolation and IMM-2, Veteran only protects against one of these.
Immobilized it not dependant on Isolation. It is not because a model gets isolated that he gets IMM. You can get either of these two effect independently. In the case of E/M against HI, Isolation is the effect of losing your radio getting fried and IMM is the result of your power armor getting fried. Then, Veteran is the ability to ignore his loss of comms and still be an effective trooper.
