Can you dismount a Pilot from a Possessed TAG? If you can - does the Pilot count as Possessed too? I know that Total Control requires the TAG to have the Pilot inside to work, but I can't find any rule that would preclude declaration of Dismount afterwards, when the TAG is successfully possessed.
I can't find anything that would stop you Dismounting the Pilot, but the Possessed state represents the TAG being controlled directly, against the Pilot's attempts to keep control, so the Pilot wouldn't be Possessed. This would also stop you being able to spend any Orders on the TAG.
Hmm, that's a very good point - when Dismounting, the Order is spent on the Pilot, which the player possessing the TAG can't do.
So... if my Guijia gets possessed in ARO, does that mean I could simply spend an order on the pilot to dismount?
No. Order activation sequence. 1. You activate the TAG 2. You spend the Order 3. You declare that the Pilot will Move, the TAG now doesn't count as being activated. You can never get to step 3 to de-activate the TAG because step 1 isn't permitted.
Wouldn't work, since you can only dismount if by declaring Move as your first Short Skill of an Order, i.e. before any ARO go off.
I edited my post to make it clear. You still need to Activate the TAG. It later retroactively stops counting as being activated. But since you aren't allowed to activate the TAG at step 1 you can't progress through the sequence to get to the point where you can undo that.
No. Q: When can you Mount or Dismount a troop? A: When declaring Move as the first Short Skill of an Order, at the beginning of its movement, a troop can Mount or Dismount. The TAG hasn't been activated to trigger the ARO.
@Mahtamori said that his Guija "got possessed" since this happens at resolution it is clear that he was discussing dismounting the Pilot by spending subsequent orders.
There is a FAQ that states a Pilot cannot MOUNT a Possessed TAG, am I wrong? I would follow the same and don't allow to dismount too. misremembered
Nah, unless @Mahtamori is correct (which I don't think is true) you can't get empty Possessed TAGs. Actually... using Eject vs your own TAG (while it's Possessed). But that's so niche that even I don't think it's worth discussing. Edit: you couldn't anyway. You'd need to be B2B with the TAG, so you'd be Engaged and "Move, Mount" would be an invalid Declaration. Also it runs into the opposite issues to @Mahtamori's Guija 1. You activate the Pilot 2. You spend the Order 3. You declare a short skill Move (Mount) with the TAG.* * The TAG is Possessed and you can't enemy troopers declare Short Skills.
Thanks, I misread that, sorry @Mahtamori. In which case applies. No, there is no such FAQ. Taking the example of a Remote Pilot mounting a Possessed TAG, this gives the other player control over the TAG again - so it's not illegal, just really dumb. http://infinitythewiki.com/en/Remote_Pilot#Game_Example._Remote_Pilot_with_TAG_in_Possessed_state:
@ijw See above, I don't see how you can validly declare the skill needed to Mount the TAG. Also it's ok. Occasionally I misremember rules when answering questions ;)
going back to original topic not the wording of Possessed state stop you from activate pilot profile? When the Possessed trooper is activated by the player who induced the possession, he must use the Possessed Trooper profile instead of his own.
A Locked Remote Presence TAG is Immobilized, meaning it's possible to declare Move while in Base Contact with it, but a Manned TAG enters no such state meaning you become Engaged when you move into Base Contact with it if it is an enemy. I think what @JoKeR writes is significant as it firmly plugs any sort of way of mounting, dismounting or using alternate profiles (if you some how managed to possess a Su-Jian), etc.
