Koni said in Spanish forum that update will come when relieses were available in store, so it would be this Friday.
It's kind of strange time for profile update - what if people are waiting for profile and only after it will come out they make an order? I remember how danavas profile appeared before pre-order was available and how our local aleph players, all simultaneously made pre-order of danavas... eeh...
Usually CB only makes the new profiles official after the models get to the stores. What sometimes happens is that the rules are "spoiled" before and people knows in advance what they'll be getting in Army later.
eee....sometimes? I'd say pretty often...for example brawlers? taquel (is it ever going to be released)? uhlan? pluszczenko? rudras? apsara? carmen? mul kuryer? and many others... it is not "sometimes" happens... It is just strange in my opinion :) Unpredictable and random :(
I think the difference is between profiles that come with a book of sectorial release like the ones you mentioned, and profiles that come piecemeal in between bigger expansions. There's lots of things we didn't get rules for until we had a model, a huge chunk of Tohaa and Steel Phallus fall into this category, the Kotail, Nikoul, Rasail, Kerail, Kaeltar, Drakios, Scylla, Teucer, Hector, Achilles V2, almost all the Dire Foes, Hakims, etc where the rules came at the same time as the model. Then there's the ITS prize troopers, which are released just before the season starts (we usually see a profile at Gen Con) but are limited availability for a year before the loser edition comes out. So there are patterns and trends, but there's multiple overlapping ones.
All of those were shown in advance as part of the preview for something coming (a new book, a new 2 player set, a new sectorial etc), or are models where the book with the rules in came out before the model (like the Uhlan). Things that are released throughout the year that aren't tied to something bigger like that get the rules when the model comes out.
OK, so why don't we have profiles yet? The models are in stores and it's past the release date so there's no excuse of some early seller breaching agreement.
FSS? It's Wargamer in Warsaw. They had the IA starter and moto112 on display with a note that they'll start selling them from Jan 21 and explained it's because of CB-mandated release date. Well, theoretically they could set an earlier fake date, but it'd be a loss-loss situation for them.
So, someone screwed up, generated customer complaints because people don't like seeing toys on display and being told they can't buy them, and still broke the release date? Nice.
Official release date of January releases is Friday 25th. You can check it at our store, for example: https://store.corvusbelli.com/products/ariadna/281104-0757-ariadna-support-pack
The note at the store says 25.01.2019. Yeah, I also don't like them being on display like that, not only because that feels like teasing us but also because it means they will be all gone the first day because they are in everyone's faces all the time. It's good for shop's profit, but not so good for customer satisfaction.
Can't you reserve your box so that they order an extra one for you? That's what I do all the time for new releases I want.
You are incorrect, the note clearly says 25th. I was there with you and complained about it to my GF, who really wanted that IA starter.
