After nice Khawarijs box now we get this. Sadly, I must admit I haven't seen such uninspiring model for a long time. I get the feeling the sculptor could not really decide what exactly the miniature is supposed to be doing. The dossier looks good but on the sculpt the interesting parts of his outfit are obscured by jump pack and the shotgun, so we can just see a guy in a tracksuit.

There is no real link with QK.
The tycoon was Sultan. It's the lone Sultan to have been "fired" because of his bribery and corruption crimes (must be epic level considering the Sultanate way).

Exactly. This is what I feel is a standard, boring-ass design and pose that has been plaguing the range.

I strongly agree, most of the time I love the Infinity releases. The minis are second to none but Raoul...
The sad part is that this mini represents the BRUTAL profile he has.

Eh, why spector looks so skinny? Pose is also a bit strange, shotgun is small compared to shukra. I have to give him a pass.
Kawariji on the other hand are very good.

    And that's the thing.

The Kawariji are an example of what they should be sculpting. Then comparing them to Spector only makes that model look worse in my mind.

Raoul looks like an edgy tech airbender.

I didnt care for the design they went for with him. So this rather meh model doesn't bother me that much.

I'll be sticking with my proxy too.

CB loves their jokes. Maybe they see all these comments and decide to sculpt a Raul that doesn’t suck?

They can always just say they were pulling an elaborate prank.

He is an ex-Sultan. He was fired.
To quote the book: "Kambur Bey had the dubious honor of being the only Sultan to ever be ousted for the crimes of bribery and corruption instead of the usual political infighting."

These days saying "it's just a prank bro" only turns a potential beating into a certain one, so I'm not sure if it's the right idea.

    Yeah.

And it's really too bad he wasn't sculpted with his escrima sticks in hand as a generic profile.

Yeah, it's over 9000. Way over.

Most of us try to save the beating for the one(s) who pulled the prank, not any messengers or bystanders.

Its surprising considering how many great Aleph sculpts have been made in the last year.

Eh – he's not that bad. I think some armor plates or greaves could have gone a long way to breaking up his pajamas/karate suit. I think the gun is fine though, with his Tonfa he would look like a wannabe Larper

I like the mini, but I think the paint job does not do enough to differentiate the White, even the yellow of his arm bracers blends in with the rest of the colors in the mini. Tactical do-dads do not really bother me, (especially when they are easy enough to remove from the foot with an exacto).
I am glad they went with the Pan-O drop-pack rather than the Haqq one, and though I like the look of the Nomad version, I think this helps to differentiate him on the table.

As for the complaints about his pants, they look comfortable, and when you are going to die a lot, you may as well be comfortable.

Also, I think Raul's background is some of the most interesting in the Infinity universe.
