I dislike the mk12 guy's pose, but that was already covered. Vet kazak HMG / Mormaer HMG all over again, not to mention the pose itself is dumb. Anyway, some people believe mk12 is actually going to be a hacker, not overly trusting earlier leaks.
A hacker would be cool to. I kind of get why some don't like the pose, but I'm not against it at all. In training, we often practice unloading the rifle and transitioning to our sidearm. The pose seems to be kind of in the middle of this transition, which is cool to me.
Eh, as much as having NWI would be awesome, I doubt that would happen. With these new loadouts Khawarijs already look pretty attractive as a unit. But there has to be at least one new NWI troop for RTF. Fatality.. ok, let's not continue this theme) But even ignoring our lack of agreement on FAT L2 - it's not likely CB would give us DAM 16 Mk12 and DAM 15/16 HRL...
Oh man, I love them. Even the Mk12. Sure, it may be irritating on its own. But in a link team it adds some nice visual variety. I also think the swords are a really great addition. Yes, they aren't CC troops, but they aren't totally out of place in a melee and the swords help distinguish from the Zhayedan. These guys look like noble warriors heroes and I can't wait to paint them up.
Yeah, it kind'a looks like he just ran out of ammo and has no opportunity to reload, having to rely on his pistol..
Exactly. Not even necessarily out of ammo though. He's just emptied one clip and it's faster to pull the sidearm than it is to reload.
For noble warior heroes they are. As well as scholars: a doctor of Quaranic studies each and every one of them.
"The courtier’s, soldier’s, scholar’s, eye, tongue, sword, Th' expectancy and rose of the fair state, The glass of fashion and the mould of form, Th' observed of all observers." I had forgotten that they are doctors and think it's wonderful. Although I can't imagine finding the time for combat training while finishing a PhD, the dissertation takes everything. But maybe that's just because I am lazy and lack their resolve.
Well, they are hand-picked men, and then given the Runihura treatment. Which neither you nor me got :P
Is the common consensus that the khawarij are scholars or soldiers first, who are then hand-picked? I'd like to know more about the red-turbans. Maybe I should finish reading my copy of the rpg book ...
That's a good point. So...how do we sign up for said treatment, hmm? It would surely help finish this last chapter! My understanding was that the training program combined both at once, but I haven't read much of the lore beyond what I've scrapped together from the forums and HSN3. Maybe I should also grab the RPG books. Are they worth it for the fluff and art alone?
Eh ... they’re only worth it because they’re cheap. I have the core books plus the Haqqislam book, which has proven to be very repetitive. There’s a lot on the different environments a haqqi may find themselves in, and definitely some new stuff on units. If it cost too much more though, it probably wouldn’t be enough to justify the spending. Especially since I’m not playing the rpg.
A shame. I wanted to learn more about Haqqislam fluff, but apparently the maxim about CB not being too much into world building still holds.
I am loving these new models. I wish there were more dynamic poses, but these are good, except for the mk12 which ill probably remove the pistol from and give a sword instead. I really did want a sword pose.
Hmm, OK. I may pick up just the core book then. I'm not really interested in playing this RPG, but I might enjoy using the fluff to run an RPG using Genesys. It would also be fun to learn at least a little more about the units I play with.
" I've learned from experience that the place to save lives is in the field, not an office. And sometimes the only way to save a life, is to take one." fits them well.
I dont know if this is the best place to post this or not, but does anyone know why the recent khawarij art from the rpg have an updated version of the original mask/helmet/faceplate but none of the models and non rpg related art have them?
Wouldnt CB be more on top of that stuff though, not portraying old or obsolete design elements in new and up to date material?
