Hello forumites! I've decided to create a little thread for myself here – just to keep track of anything I paint and where my current armies are at. To kick things off in a totally unrelated manner: Here is something I worked on over the holiday break as a breather from infinity, although still pretty closely related! I ordered a Lightbox, hopefully it will get here soon and I can begin to take actual pictures. But in the mean time here are some pictures of a Father knight I painted some time ago, I hope to expand my military orders over the spring drop some C&C or just enjoy some amateur work. I hope to update this pretty regularly!
@MikeTheScrivener This is very good for so called amateur work. You currently paint at a better level than me & I consider myself an amateur.
Thanks! Some of the other work I see on here really blow me out of the water. It's both discouraging and encouraging at the same time!
Got in a little tonight – trying to finish everything I own for Varuna before more comes out. I think I'll start on some MO after these guys are done WIP on my jammer I went for kind of a reverse scheme on the cloak/under armor. Kind of like the inverse of my Kamau, who I have yet to post here but will find time to.
@MikeTheScrivener Your Cobras are ready to strike the enemy where it hurts and they'll look good doing it.
That is an excellent plan, it's how I managed to get most of my early Infinity collection painted! I like making reversible cloaks, two different patterns on the inside and outside.
Thanks for the kind words guys! I've been kind of slow – been playing a lot of video games lately and usually take a little break after a tournament to cool off. But I finished the other Zulu and got started on Joan V2. I think I'm going to try and get aggressive at finishing the knights. I'm excited to bring some big boys to the next event. I hope my light box comes soon!
@MikeTheScrivener Looking forward to seeing Joan 2.0 finished. What does she look like before you put her together? Which parts are separate and how does her front torso look because I can't find any picture of that section of the model.
The back cape, the raised leg, the two arms and her crown/hair are all separate. Her front torso has tabard on if I recall correctly, so the boob plate and armor are covered. I can confirm tonight when I sit back down to get a little more done on her
That would be great thanks. So just to confirm, back cape + raised leg (separated from the rest of the body/model) + both arms + head/hair? Is the Spitfire separate from the arms as well?
all that sounds right – the spitfire is connected at the trigger hand and you have to line up the supporting hand with the other arm. Her chest is half covered by a tabard ala Hospitaller. It isn't very wide so there is some side boob-plate action going on. got a little more done tonight: I'm looking forward to the weekend when I can just sit down and really put some work into it
@MikeTheScrivener Thank you. I think she is looking great so far and will be a nice addition with your PanO force.
Thanks guys! I was able to finish her this weekend, along with a game. I ran her as a duo with the Santiago KHD in supplies. She kicked some serious ass, killing a muyib, going frenzy, and killing 3 more muyibs. I wanted to give her ore of a "goth" look compared to normal blonde Joan, hopefully my Lightbox should be here any day now and I can get some decent shots of her face. I'm currently debating on spending ~40 dollars on metal dice that are color scheme appropriate to really complete my army
I got my Lightbox! finally! now I can start taking better looking pictures. both a blessing and a curse because now I can see my mistakes and things I don't like more clearly T_T haha..... I got this black friar done today, I played hooky from work. I also splurged (I deserved it) and got some real dice to complete the army! Stainless steel and in my colors!!
@MikeTheScrivener Glad to see that your lightbox came in the mail. Hope it last you for many, many years to come. Same goes for those dice.
I've been gone a super long time, I know. I haven't painted too much recently. A recent tournament got me back into the swing of things with some VIRD on the table. I finished this croc man and the Echo Bravo I just got in the mail is up next
