Does anyone think an In invincible army type unit switch could happen. They thought tigers would be in but they weren't. Could naffatuns be left out since I don't remember hearing much about them in Rama, or perhaps al fasid goes back to khanate last minute? Not trying to sound negative, more just playing with ideas that could lead to more new units for us.
I hope not. Naffatun are delightful and I'd rather see them expanded than reduced. On a different note, I know that Kum bikers aren't in RTF, but CB has been pretty big on bikers in general lately. Any ideas what bikes would fit in RTF? Or what units could be reworked as bikes?
[QUOTE="emperorsaistone, post: 198655, member: 900" But someone mentioned that the fluff of Carmen Johnson & Batard suggests they work for the Caliphate too.[/QUOTE] Maybe Tunguska would sell some AI-Motorccles? Otherwise I can only think of mercenarys.
Wasn't there once a rumour of a supersoldier with "bike-like" mobility? Numair? Murtagh? Something like that. I know one of the planned units eventually became what we now know as the Al-Fasid.
I remember this as well. If Fasids were that unit though ... definitely not mobile. I also remember hearing they canceled these super-soldiers we had planned and we’d be getting something different. I just can’t find where I read that.
Mukhtar and Numair, and that was so long ago I'd have to assume that the way they existed at the time and anything we see now will be two completely seperate entities.
The Numair was a rumored supersoldier name, which translated to Panther. Then a few other forum goers and myself assumed that means camo/climbing plus/mobility, which led to super speed being a cool concept that I pushed. I think a 6-6 camo model without infiltration would be a cool unique concept.
Mutaharrik Outriders. Yeah, that's just me pumping up my own ego here (I suggested them back in 2ed days). Current Ariadnan Dynamo Regiment is very close to what I had envisioned for Mutaharrik Outriders back in the day. So I guess it won't happen. There was an idea Bostria spilled back in the day (same era as Numair & Muktar supersoldiers) of a model that was essentially combining Superjump and Bike-grade mobility. Hover-bike, jet-bike, flying bike, mini-copter, or maybe even a drone. It was said to be tested and doing well. I'm not sure if it wasn't intended for the Khanate though. Keep in mind it is likely long scratched off along with the abovementioned supersoldier ideas. We had an edition change since then, and loads of other things changed. I'm pulling it from the trash heap just for amusement value, and not to excite the fanatic peat!
Oh, the super jump bike was rumored for khanate not caliphate I'm 99% sure. However I really hope we don't get bikes in RTF, we already have Kum and characters in vanilla. Karmen would be ok but only if she isn't stopping us from getting more unique haqq units.
My headcanon is that's how Djans work, but lack of uniform access to that among Khwarijis kinda suggests otherwise for them. So, apparently I'm missing some news? Going to refresh myself there...
Does anyone think we could get some cool new hackers in RTF? A khd Tuareg would be cool, but not super original. Any other ideas?
While unlikely, and perhaps a little expensive, a khawarij hacker would be very strong. Wip 14 bts 3 with bioimmunity would be fair, and superjump to get into good hacking spots would be useful.
I'd be seriously disappointed if the Zhayedan didn't get any Hacker. After all, the Govad have two. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Khawarij Hacker. And then there are the new, not-yet-disclosed Caliphate troops. Some of them are likely to have Hacker loadouts. After all, I've summed it up a few days ago: both QK and HB have 8 Hackers each, with entires in HD, AHD & KHD categories (and slight differences in distribution). Caliphate is supposed to be the most tech-savvy Haqq army, I do not find it likely they will be behind those two regarding cyberwarfare abilities. I wouldn't, actually, be surprised to see more Hackers in RTF than in QK/HB. Naturally, there's a caveat: I'm making up prognostics based on existing data. CB might be pulling something out of the blue here, something we aren't able to predict. Therefore my advise its to not get overtly excited or wishlist'y. Keep calm and see what surns up.
