Evening All, Just wanted us to revisit this Core fireteam with a multitude of options. Since the release of the new TJC sect. list, I have leaned towards the comp that many have as well (something close to this): 5 SECURITATE Lieutenant Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 13) SECURITATE (Repeater) Boarding Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) SECURITATE Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 13) SECURITATE Feuerbach / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 22) SECURITATE Feuerbach / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 22) 2 SWC | 85 Points Now that the list has been out for a while, have people had good experiences with: - the Hacker - adding Grenzers (ML or otherwise) - does the Medkit add extra usefulness? - the HMG (I do love me some B5) I'd love to hear everyones experience with the fireteam, and what upsides and downsides have arisen with different options.
I think cores with a spare are where it's at. You know the ARO piece is going to go down, so having a replacement is gold because it lets you keep the 5 man core bonuses in your active. The HMG is surprisingly solid: BS15 B5 with access to White Noise. This is what I've been working around, I've had it played against me as well and if it wasn't for a serious unforced error by my opponent would have won. Jurisdictional Command of Tunguska ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 6 GRENZER Missile Launcher / Pistol, Breaker Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 29) SECURITATE Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 13) SECURITATE (Repeater) Boarding Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) SECURITATE HMG / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 21) SECURITATE Paramedic (MediKit) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) SECURITATE Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 13) 2.5 SWC | 106 Points Open in Infinity Army I would swap in an FO Grenzer instead of the Paramedic or one of the regular grunts.
This is probably my default: Jurisdictional Command of Tunguska ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 5 PERSEUS FTO (Fireteam: Haris) Breaker Combi Rifle, Nanopulser, Smoke Grenades / 2 Pistols, DA CC Weapon. (0 | 33) SECURITATE Paramedic (MediKit) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) SECURITATE (Repeater) Boarding Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) SECURITATE HMG / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 21) SECURITATE Paramedic (MediKit) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) 1 SWC | 99 Points Open in Infinity Army I don't play them as a defensive link, I use them to aggressively push Perseus forward, with full core bonuses he's the most dangerous Myrmidon. Sometimes I'll trade the second paramedic for another repeater). The link is mostly unhackable so can ignore enemy hackers if you don't have orders to deal with it. (And the most they can do is to blackout the repeater). I prefer the paramedics over the hacker for that reason. Depending on points, mission, and things like limited insertion, I'll upgrade to Grenzers spitfire and or FO, or Raoul. I want to try this sometime too for a very different link Jurisdictional Command of Tunguska ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 5 SECURITATE (Repeater) Boarding Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) SECURITATE Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 13) SECURITATE Lieutenant Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 13) GRENZER Missile Launcher / Pistol, Breaker Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 29) GRENZER Missile Launcher / Pistol, Breaker Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 29) 3 SWC | 99 Points Open in Infinity Army
no comments for the hacker yet. Grenzer was helpful with his ITS10 forward deployment. For an active linkteam the Sensor is useful. Or even sensor while a transductor move and deploy sniffers. I don't see the point of the medikit, HMG is awesome (in active turn; reactive you might prefer fbach or MSR). I like to add the close combat specialist with my securitate link, either perseus or raoul.
Paramedic is just there for ITS classifieds and missions where paramedics get a +3 bonus on the objective. Occasionally helpful but not must-have. With a bit of planning he can get you the odd free heal by using the occasional spare short skill you get when not wanting to blunder into LOS with 2nd short skill. He can utilise his medi pistol and heal downed models at range. Not bad when you weren't doing anything with that second skill anyway but nothing to plan for regularly
I'd take a paramedic in lists with a Kriza! In games where you're just in the shithouse, that 50/50 PH roll can be pretty sexy.
If you are putting down a MSR, I would seriously consider a Grenzer. The extra BS and ARM are... ok, but MSV1 is fantastic. White noise is actually pretty rare. And its not too much of a extra investment. I actually like a completely defensive securitate link - 3 combis, medic and 2 MSR Grenzers. Leave a combi as a spare for when a inevitable ARO piece falls, and use the medic to finish the kill if you have the orders. Works really well in the fact that is simply not worth for your enemy to be facing down your grenzers, and is a "cheap" order pool ( well, tunguskan cheap, not really cheap)
