MIYAMOTO MUSASHI Travelling costume version (Autumn Night). Not gonna add that extraneous "h" to the spelling of this legend's name. Love this guy. Spoiler: More Pics Colour scheme ispired by original Musashi depicted in Japanese art: Chose to reverse the top to light blue and the bottom to dark blue in order to match the Corvus Belli concept more closely. Rear artwork inspired by Japanese fabric landscape:
@archangeleong He certainly shows a resemblance to the real Musashi in the art piece. The freehand in the back is incredible! Hats off to you pulling this off.
I have been inspired! I've had Musashi sitting next to me on my desk, primed white and washed, for months. Maybe even a year. Had no clue what to paint him. Now I just need to sit down and paint all my civvies to get back in practice painting infinity style instead of GW style.
MIYAMOTO MUSASHI Aristeia costume version (Summer Day). He may not be a show off, but he is a badass! Spoiler: More Pics Colour scheme followed the Corvus Belli concept more closley, but after research it seems that they were already inspired by the original. Miyamoto Musashi self portrait as an old man: The artwork on the back was inspired by a famous waves print as well as another print I found that included the sun. Summer Day and Autumn Night Costume Musashi Spoiler: More Pics (Rear Artwork) Musashi has been my favourite Infinity project so far. If only there were a couple more Musashi sculpts, I could paint the other seasons... Well there is the Aristeia version, but how can I get my hands on a metal sculpt these days? After that another sculpt? Who knows... One day...
Considering what you did with these two models I'll look forward to the day this plan of yours pans out.
andre61, thanks for kind words as always! "Ganbatte kudasai!" (Do your best). Let others inspire you, but don't hold your standard to them, only hold your standards to yourself! Above all, keep practicing and trying to improve. I've been painting miniatures for 20 years and still find ways to do better, infact Infinity JSA is my current project on challenging and rethinking may painting skillset. I've been inspired by Angel and other great painters on this forum to paint in the "Infinity style" and I feel like despite my experience I am learning so much more than I knew before in such a very short time.
Thank you for your inspiring word, I to have been painting 20+ years, but I always think other people stuff looks better then my stuff, keep up the good work sir.
As an former IaidÅ practitioner everything in those minis makes me cry: the hands positions, arms and saber shape, just bad sculpts your painting is exactly the opposite: inspired, lorefull and perfectly executed, congrats ! Miyamoto would never draw his weapon except to strike, he would never showing off like this. The old sculpt make 10 times more sense
Asuka Kisaragi Rides Again! Sweet sexy lady deserves a new ride. Fits fairly snugly, with the addition of tactical footpath (sidewalk). Spoiler: More pics
Soooo the forum has been broken for a long time and old pics don't display anymore. Thus I took new pics of everything and started a blog to keep em safe. Very sad about broken forum as it has been a ritual to read it and update my pics over the last 5 months or so since I got into Infinity.... Lets see if it works.
Looks like link works so I will update forum pics over time (but with not as many pics as before since I can't trust the forum to remain stable). If you like my JSA please head over to my blog to see many more pics (link in signature below)
