To CB Staff, Will Haqqislam players ever get a Halqa release? I dislike having to blank bases or proxies these troops...
there is a halqa sculpt. It might be old and rather not to the new standard and maybe hard to obtain. but there is one, two actually, as it is a blister with a male and a female halqa
We had it. Early 2ed-era. Got discontinued in N3. I expect a resculpt once the Khanate sectorial gets released.
How is it not? I, a consumer of CB products, have patiently waited for a possible release on these models and nothing has ever surfaced other than old models I cannot get my hands on. Yet, I can field them. In the mean time, years maybe, should I spend money on a desirable proxy to only have to spend the money again? Should I not play them at all then? Is this wrong to be frustrated by this and to want someone from the CB staff to drop a spoiler or hint they will be released further down the road? Seems pretty reasonable in every facet. Maybe posting here I may get an answer? Who knows... Thanks for the info guys, I heard rumors May would be the earliest we might get a third sectorial. That’s five months away tho...more waiting.
So, do tell me. Why are you not using Ghulam as Halqa? They have the same stats, and the Halqa have the same (with less options) profiles than the Ghulam, adding 3 points for mechanized deployment...
I appreciate your enthusiasm for Halqa! They are awesome. I have 4 of the old sculpts I have converted, and I love those models. I see them being pretty low priority for new sculpts, though. The ONLY diffference between a Halqa and a Ghulam is their deployment rule, so once they hit the table there is no need to know which one is a Halqa and which one is a Ghulam. Unless they get a change in rules or available weapons, I imagine we will just be stuck using Ghulam proxies/conversions. Of course, in a new release they may get a redesign. Much like in N2, the only difference between Janissaries and Al Fasid was that one was religious, and the other was not, yet in 3rd ed the Al Fasid became very distinct.
I would like to! I love their sculpts. But, again, I would hate to lose out on my purchase once Halqa are re-released. And, more importantly, I am a slow painter with high standards. To loose that time is no bueno. Which is why if CB were to just come out and say no to Halqa re-sculpts then I would go buy up some Ghulam asap. But, until then, I rather stick to some unpainted random models.
I wouldn't bet on seeing Halqa any time soon. The next sectorial which is a number of months out does not include the Halqa. Halqa will be in the next sectorial after it which we will perhaps see in the next 3-6 years or so. But who knows? We weren't expecting new Remotes, Asawira or Odalisque and we got them.
If you want the old Halqa models I can point you to the right direction. I still see them hanging in some online shops for 14 USD for 2 miniatures.
Could somebody explain to me why I would want to pay the 3 pt difference between the Halqa and the Ghulam? I understand that they have mech deployment, but otherwise I see zero differences, and 3 points seems like too much to me. I suspect that the reason why there are no models available is that most people came to the same conclusion. Am I missing something here?
You say dropping your Halqa - as many as you want - up to table half isn't worth 3pts extra per model...? That's at least 2 Orders per model saved, compared to taking Ghilim and moving them up the board to the same position...
Vanilla only, no marker, nothing special... two halqas can be changed for a mutta or nearly a Daylami, which work better as sacrifical pawns closer to the enemy. Ask how much Zerats you see in Vanilla CA, for example. The only Halqa that is worth his salt is the Doctor one (if you can't afford the Tuareg Doctor) or the basic one (to use the shotgun against enemy camos without losing yours... but Muttas...)
A Halqa is just a Ghulam that deployed up the table, you'll always be able to swap them about interchangeably. Though, do note that Halqa don't have cubes for some reason...
