Why do OS still cost 13 points? Remember those price drops on the Hospitallers? Well guys, it's the same thing as before because the 6 points you save on them are spent on OS.

Wait, what? If you have a Hospitaller Knight and an Order Sergeant, and the Knight gets a point discount, that doesn't mean that the Order Sergeant gets more expensive.

He was refering to the loss of Fusiliers and being forced to buy a way more expensive Lt on top.

    @Teslarod
Nowhere is he referring to Fusiliers within his statement. He is only pointing at Hospitallers and Order Sergeants.

No. It's that now even when MO doesn't take hospitallers it has to somehow pay 35pts for Lt and stuck them somewhere safe.

Or pay 87 pts for cheapest Lt and CoC and actually use Lt aggresively.

Well case is that Hosp+Mag strength was actually in Magister being really hard to shift due to their "I dodge everything on 17s".

Okay, lets break this down for you:
    This is what was said.
And what is implied here is that you lose the points saved on Hospitalers is spent on replacing Fusiliers for more expensive OS.
    Hope that clears that up.

Let's make that Magister Link again then.
This time we'll keep it within the Revised MO, but instead of Teuton Knights, I'll use the more expensive (And might I say, More useful) Santiago Knights.

    Santiago Hacker - 38pts
    Santiago Spitfire - 43pts
    3x Magisters at 23pts a piece.
    Total: 150points.

For that extra point, you Lose the HMG
You gain: KDH, Tinbot, E/M Grenades, and Still retain a very good mid range weapon on an excellent attack piece.

"But Haaans... The Santiagos are cheating, they aren't any gooood.."
Well, Let's make it a Teuton Link instead

    Teuton NCO - 39pts
3x Magisters with DA for 23 a piece
    1x Magister with ML
    Total.. 140pts

I get that they have moved the Hospitaller Link to the Teutons/Santiagos. But isn't it a hell of a lot more interesting that we now have Multiple HI links to choose from, rather than "How to spec my Hospi link this game"?

    How?
How are you making that assumption?

Would it not be more accurate to assume that he's only talking about the Hospitaller link, since there's been No Mention of Fusiliers in Pinky Entire History Of Posts Within This Forum

Does it not make more sense that he's talking about Hospitaller Link Composition instead?

umm but you could already do magister + santiago. Most people just didnt because tables generally dont favor your only long range weapon maxing at spitfire rangeband.

so in essence we lost the hospitaller link to gain the teuton which is inferior. Santiago just happened to improve on their own, bringing specialist operative on the spitfire profile and upping their paramedic to KHD.

Also your hospitaller link + order sgt misses on something the double hospitaller + triple magister link would provide.

while the hospitaller boarding shotguns are better than the magister light shotguns, you miss out on the very credible threat of burst 2 panzerfaust aro from 3 separate sources.

The order sgt also lacks stealth and will go around granting the enemy turn to face and jamming opportunities , he is also an easy to snipe portion of the link, whereas before it all consisted of minimum arm 3 two wounds.

Well, what else is "spend the points saved on Hospitslers on OS" supposed to refer to?
I'm kinda at a loss why I need to explain this further.

I do agree on a lot of this. and in the essence of how the Revised MO is being updated, I can see that we have to get used to Anchors within some link compositions.

Now, as you mention, Santiagos were effective, but it does seem they were always outshined by Hosp. This new update gives them a new purpose, and I for one is happy to see the new models on the table.
I've also never been a fan for Teutons. Not before the update, and I'm most likely never gonna add them to my army lists. Again, I see them being outplayed by Hosp. and now also Santiagos.

What I however do find troublesome is the fact that, with this new update. Not 1, but 2 of the Warcors, as well as the "Unofficial Ambassador of PanO" do be over the top negative on every single aspect of the new release.

    So yes,
I do agree that Stealth is very nice, and I will learn to play my full link with an anchor model if I need to.
Yes, Panzerfausts are nice as alternative ARO's. But they aren't gone? They can even be in a link team only consisting of Magisters if that's what you want.
Yes, I also played Hospitaller and Magister links in almost all of my 10order lists.

But I do not believe that the efficiency of that link is lost to us, but we really do need to stop bickering about it, and either play the sect as you are now capable of, or find yourself another team to play for.

Dude, I'm obviously too stupid to handle your explanations.

Because frustration is the name of the game, because for all the engagement we attempt with CB they refuse to actually listen the most massive group of playtester that exists.

Because seeing it in the warcor forum too, the being ignored is not just out here in the wild.

Because instead of bettering things that were mediocre and bad, things that were good were instead made lesser.

Don't get me wrong, there are things in this update that i love.

I love the new santiago profiles even if i am bothered by the loss of the boarding shotgun.

I love the hmg and fixed auxbot on the seraph. Father knight linking with OS was something we asked for.

    Those things are awesome.

But among them is a mountain of half assed that is unbelievable. Like teutons in general, the fact that CoC is on sepulcher when another faction would have gotten it on a model the cost of the black friar. The montesa bike not being just a bike option, but losing the entire set of other profiles(and i like the montesa biker btw)

The fact that another faction which came out at the same time as our redesign can make 16 order limited insertion lists, but can also do 20 order 15 model lists while we struggle to get to 13 (forgive mild exaggeration)

The fact that holo2 is still an overcosted skill and the sepulcher is unique for it but not actually good. Despite the fact we know holo 2 and vis modifiers can be combined.

This update feels like being told to reach into a bag of turds to find candy, the one consolation point is that at least some candy has the wrapper on

Thats the difference. You could quite well play Hosp+Mag in 14-15 order list.

Also your "new" Santiago+Mag list need somehow to fit expensive LT into it and still somehow fit someone to allow them to leave DZ.

Im starting to feel the decision to make hospitaller not link with magisters was spur of the moment , considering all new promotional material has them in hospitaller colors, while they couldnt have done teuton colors to spoil the new link, they could have easily done santiago colors.

Well, Teuton order is suffering the assaul of the CA on their fortress. They need the reinforcements, not the hospitalliers

    Great that they did .....
    <looks at Teutons profiles>
    - Well mayby actually CA can do them a favor.

As a side note: afaik Magisters are memebers of every Order, aren't they ?

Yes but I have a theory about this : we are playing on Paradiso during 3rd Offensive. So the main order is the Teutoninc one and all the others are just auxiliaries in the MO front. The Montesa Order fight mostly along SAA and Santiagos are mostly busy in space. This explains the presence of Dart in MO too (if you have read the passage about the infiltration of the Teutonic fortress).
So, yes, Magisters are a thing in some orders but not in all (the Dominican one is not known for having some and I think it is the same for Montesa and Holy Sepulchre).

    Dominicans are not knightly Order.

Also: seeing the change done to Teutons (or the actual lack of those) and Teutons Monastery situation after 3rd Offensive I would rather speculate that there will be some changes (or I hope there should be) to Teutons due to the lore implications on a similar if not even more radical than those done to Montesas.

tldr; from lore perspective Teutons are very close to being squatted, which can result in their deletion or complete and radical make-over in a spirit of Montesa Knights.

Oh, and addition of presence of Gruenewald location close to Teutons main monastery is also not a good sign for them ^^
