This thread is a celebration of all the Heavy infantry fire team cores, I would like to ask you, wich is your favorite pure pain train link team? any reason is good, you love the miniatures, the profile, you made an awesome play with them, you love the play style of the troop or maybe you would love to have a similar profile in your faction. The rules: It must be a 5 man HI core. With 2 real or virtual wounds (sorry moblots, minuteman etc) No mix link teams (more fair for older pain trains) No characters. You can comment about any of your favorite combination of HI link teams with mixed troops and characters, but the question is about pure fire team cores with just one type of troop. Honestly, among mono-unit HI links... I'll give it to the Zuyong. Purely because it is both a cheap enough HI link, it is essentially a fireteam of actual proper military personnel ( So it gets style points. ) and Zuyongs look pretty cool overall. Would have also maybe voted Wu Ming pain train core as well, if multiple choices were allowed. It's kinda hard picking ''pure'' links nowadays as everyone and their Shasvastii impersonator mum gets mixed links nowadays.

Well the other pretender (Hosp+Mag link ) was just nuked, so yes I would vote that Rriot Girrls link team is actually best one. Silly MO cannot into HI links ^^

I don't play them (yet...) but i'll vote for hollow-men, simply because movement skills like super-jump are usually really fun to play with, and 6-2 move really let you fully exploit it. If we're talking about pure efficiency and with your criterias in mind (no character/mix fireteams) then i'd say Riot girl are the top dogs, with wu-ming coming second because of their really good loadouts. Janissaries and Hospitalliers Knights are kinda neat too, because they have doctors! Zuyongs are really cost-efficient, with their SWC discount on HMG profiles and the TacAw profiles, but i think they really need mixed fireteams and above-all Tai Sheng to shine and outperform other Pain Train.
I voted for Hospitallers but ORCs are just behind in my hurt. That's why I love playing Vanilla : no need to choose, take both But I think the best HI core with no mix and characters is the Riot one. They are with so few weaknesses with such a good price that it is insane. Answers to this link exist but they are expensive. Too much expensive for what the player of the Riot lose in exchange.
DeFersen is a Hospitaller :) (Didn't Joan used to count as Hospitaller and Santiago before? Now she's just wildcard character troop) I find the Wu Ming to be the most fun, best rounded, and void of any rule that makes them feel unfair to play with, so that's what I voted. If I were to make a list of the "best" 5-man, it'd probably be 1. Riots 2. Hospitaller 3. Hollows
She was able to form a Fireteam with +4 hospitaliers or +4 Santiagos. But she never counted as one of them, if that was the case you could link them with Magisters, and that wasn't possible With the new MO she is not a wildcard... I WISH SHE WAS. Now she can join any duo or join +4 hospitaliers.
Yeah who could thought that ? And especially in sectorial which can take quite powerfull MI links and superb WB :)
Need to get me my Hollow Men box still, the pain train there was such a fun idea that I turned them into an antagonist group for Starfinder.
Nomads have the most efficient HI links I think, though the Zuyongs are ace too. The best pure MI five guy link in the game... Hard to say. Bagh-Mari? I hugely rate Moiras and Wildcats mind. Rodoks are a strong contender, as are Yadu. LI probably Kamau or KTS. Warbands there aren't many of but Jags are ace.
