Out of curiosity, where is the long skill now that 3rd offensive is out? I cannot find it in the wiki. Marksmanship X is an automatic skill. http://infinitythewiki.com/en/Marksmanship
Wiki isn't updated yet, I recommend DLing the rules PDF instead. Hopefully it'll be soon. But my money is that it's done but waiting on approval.
I think it was updated between inane.imp’s post and yours. So when Avanst posted, it probably still said automatic. The current wiki entry appears correct.
Some discrepancies between versions have crept in, I'm working on getting the definitive version up on the wiki, but it won't be today.
New question. What's the Burst of a Pheasant in a Bao Core who declares MMLX? I think: Burst of the weapon + MODs = Final Burst. 1 + 1 = 2
umm " The +1 B bonus is not applicable when the attack is an Entire Order Skill (Intuitive Attack, Speculative Fire...)."
Yeah. Lacking caffeine and thinking through a problem rather than the rules. I was hoping I'd be able to quietly delete this. :'(
The internet never rests! Probably not bad to have it brought up in the thread so all the pertinents are in one place though.
Not to mention mmlx is not a bs attack, based on this ruling. So it wouldn't get the +3 bs bonus either.
Why? Edit: because the MOD applies to BS Attack rolls, and with Entire Order skills that allow you to perform a BS Attack you still make a BS Attack roll. In the Active Turn, the Team Leader gains a +3 MOD to the Attribute used to perform BS Attack Rolls (either BS, PH or WIP), and a +3 WIP MOD to Discover Rolls.
I don't think there is any nesting. But in this case ,to be completely pedantic, there is never a requirement for LOS imposed if mmlx is merely an attack, and not a BS attack.
That's the logical extension of IJW's interpretation: the Entire Order skill is not itself a BS Attack but allows you to perform a BS Attack. The BS Attack is nested within the Entire Order skill. Assault is remarkably similar, it nests Move and CC Attack within a single Entire Order skill. This way of thinking about it makes a lot of things a lot clearer. (And explains why Triangulated Fire being a BS Attack itself is weird).
