This is the real world, I'm hoping for the Mr Stud Sexual Implant - works all night, every night. (I think that's how it was phrased in CyberPunk 2020)
Yeah, official comment/ruling would be appreciated - rather than hearing what has been "confirmed" in the Warcor forum that 99% of people have no access to :P
And she will never know. It's more a point of forcing CB's staff to get out and make an statement... a lot of people won't take any word but that of CB staff, unless it suits them.
There's no IJW response on the main forums. In this thread he has, pretty conspicuously, avoided answering any of the questions raised except tge one about isolation. If there's no FAQ or response on the forums, then there's really no quotable ruling people can use in-game.
Which is awesome if you have a marker state Lt. On the other hand you're spending your Special Lt Order which broadcasts who your Lt is. Ie "that Camo marker". [emoji14] Ie. No it hasn't been clarified. Both arguments are equally as supported by the rules.
If "broadcasts" was defined in any way I would agree. It is kind of like the base ARO rules being written without the possibility of multiple units drawing AROs discussion elsewhere though.
I've always read that as a descriptive warning, not an actual game rules construct. I.e. "reminder: if you do this, you are giving away a piece of private information"
Sure that's a valid reading, and if CB never introduced rules via those sorts of things I'd probably agree with that interpretation. But it's equally plausible that it's 'an actual game rules construct'. This is why I accept this one is ambiguous.
As far as revealing the LT goes, nope. WHY does spending the LT Order 'broadcast' (not an actual game term for anything) who the LT is? Because only the LT can spend it, 'giving your opponent a clear potential target'. NCO bypasses this completely, because it's not the LT spending it. As far as spending the Order without making the trooper the Team Leader, I'd wanted to add in extra text here to make it more explicit, but the example refers to the Fireteam Integrity rules (for leaving the Fireteam if spending the LT Order), which can only possibly apply to the trooper with NCO. In other words, no spending the LT Order via NCO and nominating a non-NCO trooper as the Team Leader.
Just curious, were you privy to any discussions (not in a rules context, but in a gameplay/balance one) as to why a Lt. couldn't use their order in a fireteam, but an NCO could?
Related question while we're on the subject, @ijw : Do you have to reveal that you're spending the LT Special Order (through your NCO)? Or, because the NCO rule turns the LT Special Order into a Regular Order, do you not have to declare spending the LT Special Order?
Expenditure of LT Orders is Open Information (and they are kept separate anyway), so you'd have to declare it. EDIT - from the LT Special Order text: The status and expenditure of the Special Lieutenant Order is Open Information. Players must place their Special Lieutenant Order Markers where all players can see them.
No, theres more to that particular statement, this is the second time this quesiton has been asked by this poster (though in a different locataion) and I was pretty much told to P*ss off for answering it the first time and that it was my fault that no answer had been made in the official forums
Taking the word of someone third-hand just isn't good enough. It's not about you; it's that communications about rules need to come from CB.
