The one thing I'm seeing is shang ji wildcard with a bunch of zhanshis as a bargain basement heavy bruiser squad. I might assemble my zhanshi squad, but I don't think they'l feature in my first few IA outings.
I can think of a few uses for them 3 Zhanshi + Song Bae ML + Haidao MSR for a pretty cheap defensive link 4 Zhanshi + Haidao Red Fury for a cheap imitation of the Crane+CG link.
@Koni @Bostria A little late, but please pass on my thanks to everyone who helped make the update work. I especially appreciated the army mobile site being up so soon, though my work probably disagrees.
Funny thing about Tai sheng: her chain of command profiles can use the lieutenant order even she is in a fireteam thanks to NCO!
About that: can you use them only if the NCO is the link leader, like Tactical Awareness, or can you fuel the link with Lt orders just by having a NCO in there somewhere?
The NCO rule says it allows the owner to use the LT order. So, yes, would need to be link leader it seems.
No. I think people would be content with the Zhencha having 4-2 move. The point was to make it so it died to mines for some reason. The issue is the Zhencha is the one HI that has the "worst of both worlds."
Hell no! I'll take shock vulnerability over 4-2 move any day of the week. And for your reference. I use the prowler alot. And i love the prowler profile. But nope, nope so much nope! 4-4 move with climbing plus is much better.
Exactly. Hulang compares poorly to Shikami, not to mention is yet another 1W "HI". Yes, the better comparison might be to the Oniwaban, but still. Yes, rectal-cranial inversion is a terrible injury. You can put both a Shang Ji and a Haidao into a Zuyong link: Invincible Army ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 5 ZÚYǑNG Lieutenant (AutomediKit) HMG / 2 Breaker Pistols, Knife. (1 | 39) ZÚYŎNG (Fireteam: Haris, Tactical Awareness) Combi Rifle + 1 TinBot B (Deflector L2) / 2 Breaker Pistols, Knife. (0.5 | 34) TAI SHENG Breaker Combi Rifle, Chain-colt + 1 TinBot B (Deflector L2) / Heavy Pistol, Knife. (0 | 45) HǍIDÀO Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Boarding Shotgun / Breaker Pistol, Knife. (0 | 26) SHÀNG JÍ Heavy Rocket Launcher, Light Shotgun / Pistol, Shock CCW. (2 | 39) 3.5 SWC | 183 Points Though looking at that again I would drop the HMG LT for a Daoying LT2 (out of the link team, though). Again, go compare that to either the Oniwaban or the Shikami. Not as tough as the Shikami, not as good in CC as either Shikami or Oniwaban. And dang near the same cost. Yes, 14-16 order combat groups are not only theoretically possible, but also viable lists! Considering that you declare who is the team leader at skill declaration, doesn't seem to be much of a limit. Looks like it replaces the old LT, and I think you'd lose the LT2 rule in the process. Remember that it's normally going to be hanging out in a link team with a Tinbot B, so anyone trying to hack it is at WIP-6 Or rather, why the Daoying isn't HI, given the Zhencha's stats?
Plus Fairie dust and during its active turn it could surprise shot with cybermask. Haidao KHD is excellent. It has a much better set of range weapons than Shikami though. Duo SMGs, EM grenades blows Assault Pistol, contender and nimbus grenades out of the water. The gap between the Combi variants is even bigger, as Hulang gets a LFT and EM grenades to go with that combi. Both versions also carry D-charges, which is handy. And while it is worse in CC than Shkami, it is more than adequate.
On a climbing plus button presser? It would make the climbing a bit...uninspiring. Just suppose there was a version of IA that had more than one Daofei, and 4 Zencha. I think it would be derided as broken.
How so? I mean it's just 2" less. Do you have a lot of 7" tall buildings in your terrain pool or something?
