Yes, that's usual, but those characters aren't usually wildcards. Again, I'm not sure what it would change.
Nothing, if she herself counts as both a Kamau and an ORC for her Harris. EDIT: Also some of this confusion may be coming from the discrepancies from the wiki and ARMY; ARMY states that machinists can only join a Kamau Harris or Core while the wiki states they are wildcard
She doesn't count as an Orc or as a Kamau, and doesn't need to. She gets to replace anyone, without needing to count as any specific unit.
so just to clarify, assuming the machinist can only join a Kamau for core or haris, would this be a legal link team: Patsy (who has the Haris skill) ORC HMG Machinist (Varuna option)
Quick question, and I'm sorry if this has been addressed somewhere else. Special Fireteam: Up to 1 Order Sergeant can join a Knights Hospitallers or a Teuton Knights Fireteam. Except Crusade Fireteams. - Does this mean per link or per list? Just so I know if I can have 1 OS joining a Core of Teutons and another OS joining a Haris of Hospitallers.
Is there any clear ruling for Wildcard? I was under the impression that in order to add something to a link you need to be able to compose this fireteam with lesser troops than you want in the end (with 4 for example and add the 5th as wildcard). But now I see an example in Joan of Arc and Crusade Fireteam. It says Joan and 4 Hospitallers. Not up to but exactly 4. So it looks like that you can't field her with 2 Hospitallers for example. But then I see an example where Santiago replace 1 Hospitaller and it is ok. It is very important for fireteams like Yan Huo haris where it says 1 Zuyong and 2 Yan Huo - which is rather expensive but powerful. Can one add Pangguling instead of 1 of Yan Huo to make link cheaper?
Wildcard troopers can replace anyone in any Fireteam. The only restriction is that a Haris still needs someone with the Haris Skill, and a Duo still needs someone with the Duo Skill.
No. The Machinist can only join a Kamau Fireteam, and there is no way to put an Orc in a Kamau Fireteam. Per Fireteam.
Wildcards are literal Wildcards, they count as anything. Bear in mind you don't add things to links there's no order to their creation, you choose a number of models and form them into a team. So if I have a Fusilier, two Kamau, and an ORC, I declare that I'm forming them into a Fireteam, I check that they are eligible to form a team by checking the Sectorial chart or wiki page and then I make sure they meet the requirement for a Core Team (2-5 members) If I want to do a Haris, I check one of the models has Haris, make sure they're allowed to form a Haris, and make sure there are 2-3 of them. "Join" wasn't really the best term to use, "can be a member of" fits better with what has been confirmed as the intent of the rule.
this is what was unclear to me. she does not count as both an "ORC Haris" and a "Kamau Haris" so in essence if I want to include the machinist, I will have to take another Kamau instead of the second ORC.
This time I have a question or comment (the question is : if i'm wrong, then why?). Sometime a special fireteams calls for specific models. ex: Zuyong Haris + 2 Yan Huo FTO Miyamoto Haris + 2 Tankos Domaru Haris + 2 Karakuri Scarface + Cordelia Wildcard can replace anything, ex : 1 Shang Ji can replace a Yan Huo Valerya is a wildcard, she can replace anything, including a Cordelia (as long as one model has the Duo skill). I conclude then that Shang Ji wildcard can replace any model including the Zuyong Haris, as long as someone in the fireteam has the haris skill, such as the Shang Ji Haris ?
She counts as a model with Haris. So if you have a Kamau, Patsy, and a Machinist you can form a Haris as all three can count as Kamau. If you have an ORC, a Machinist, and Patsy we can't form a Haris as the machinist can only form a link with Kamau. If there were two ORCs Patsy could form a Haris with them as they're meeting the requirements (legal option in sectorial, one trooper has Haris, 2-3 models)
I guess my confusion is coming from the language that allows these special teams to be made in the first place. what exactly defines a "Fireteam Haris: Kamau"? for the longest time I just assumed it was whoever had the governing skill determined what kind of haris/duo ect. it was.
A Kamau Haris is 2-3 Kamau, one of which has the Haris skill. Machinists and Wildcards count as Kamau for these purposes
That seems legitimate to me. 1 Shang Ji Haris + Haidao Engineer + Pangguling FTO is a valid "Zuyong Haris + 2 Yan Huo FTO" fireteam.
For the new Invincible Army fire teams, all the wildcards say: "Special Fireteam. Wildcard trooper: up to 1 Hǎidào can join any Fireteam of this Sectorial Army." Does that mean each wildcard is limited to 1 for the entire army per wildcard, or is it limited to 1 per fireteam per wildcard? Basically, I know 2 Haidaos with 3 Zuyong is illegal, and 1 Pangguling FTO 1 Haidao 3 Zuyongs is legal, but is 1 Haidao 4 Zuyong Core alongside 1 Haidao 2 Shang Ji Haris legal? Is having 2 separate Haidao wildcards each in different fire teams breaking the wildcard restriction?
@tigervx its one per Fireteam. @GingerGiant theres no such Skill as Fireteam: Core, that's purely a reminder that Army uses, that causes more confusion than it helps with. Please see the first post in this thread. :-(
