Hey, at least you noticing that oddity lead me to check and lead me to noticing the Daofei actually got a new profile- The MR Lieutenant profile-
Hulang: A Ryuken-9 who got promoted to Domaru too recently to have had time to get the armour fully online and got told they're going to replace the Oniwaban so stop depowering that ODD and get the hell out there right this instant! Still so weird that Haidao has BTS 0...
Why would you ever use that profile..? If you really want him to bring a MR, why not give him an AHD and make him a specialist to boot?
Extra wounds are great in the active turn, since everything is only throwing 1-2 dice at you. In the reactive turn, when they can throw 4-5 dice at your dudes, you can lose both wounds in the same order. It's going to take your opponent more orders to chew through your list, but not as many as if you took extra dudes or protected them with marker states. But my two cents into this thread: I don't think IA is "bad" but my initial reaction is "inefficient" (also known as "expensive"). It seems like it would be really good in that mythical "LI tourney" land, but that's not the real world. Theres a lot of mixed links, and maybe I'll get more mileage around the super mixed links in practice than the individual profiles show. Its definitely more to chew on than what the MAF got. I'm going to keep my head out of commenting on the forums for a while though, until I get a chance to play a few proxy games.
But it's been there the past 10 years? Literally no reason to take it when the Spitfire is great, not much costlier and comes with a discount SWC.
Fair enough. Ech, who knows, maybe a player spent all their SWC elsewhere so can't afford the Spitfire?
Now I may be missing something critical here...but I can't seem to find NCO on any of the skills listing in the wiki or the new skills PDFs that I've been able to track down. Whatsit du?
Not exactly; allows the unit to use the Lt. order as if it was a Regular one. Works in a fireteam, while Lt. order wouldn't.
Nice! I though it was "up to 1 Shang Ji (in your whole army) can join any Fireteam of this Sectorial Army". With of course being able to reform fireteam later using a different 1, but never more than 1 shangji wildcard per army list plus 1 haidao wildcard per army list (etc.) So, we can have in each team 1 wildcard of each type ? (as long as we respect AVA and 1 core + 1 haris + any duo). By "others" you mean other faction ? As other wildcard in IA all have the same wording : "Up to 1 xxx can join any Fireteam"
Lots of interesting things, and few disapointing ones all things considered: + Tai Sheng is awesome, i don't see myself playing a zuyong fireteam without her. Good weapons and tools, NCO, specialist, better profile than zuyongs... chinese waifu doesn't disappoint! + Tactical awareness on tinbot-B haris profiles, be it zuyongs or shang-jì, is great for tactical flexibility at pretty much no additional costs. + Tactical awareness on gunners zuyongs and shang-jì was expected, and dirt cheap orders are always welcome! + Daoyings are cheap as dirt. Hacker Lt can use its Lt orders to supportware and re-camo rigth after, which is great. I'm a bit sceptical about the daoying sniper, but it might be worth a try considering we have mowang red fury and Taï Sheng for low-swc firepower. + The FTO pangulling isn't only cheap, but also absolutely brutal. Buff it with MML2, use it as your 5-man team filler, and go to town shredding things with B3 BS20 shock light shotgun. It's not a dakini or an unidron, but the fact that it comes with its very own repeater and can benefit from tinbot-B makes it stupidly good. + Mowangs are strong, very cheap SWC wise, and they have NCO. Great all around profile, might see plenty of use. - Haidaos are... bland, for lack of a better word. They're cheap and they bring the much needed KHD, but i don't see myself playing the engineer in link anymore since with them being HI and PH11/BTS0 they're only asking to eat an E/M grenade and don't repair anything. Might eventually consider the MSR since its MSV2, or chain of command if for some reason i don't play a daoying. - Speaking of the devil, the daoying is an MI, which is weird and makes me question a few things about design choices like why did they ditched the tiger, or why is the zhencha an HI. I can live with it, it's just... dannoying. - Hulangs are interesting, they're basically the bastard between an oniwaban and a shikami. Problem is, they're expensive and their tool kit is way too specialized towards anti-heavy for my taste. They can start ahead and are specialist which is great, but i know i'll have a hard time fitting them in my lists. Wait and see. - Shang-jì are completly outclassed by zuyongs. Tactical sense should have been their redeeming feature, but zuyongs have it too. Spitfire is great, but Tai-sheng has BS14 and an MK12. Their ability to wild card and/or duo makes them very flexible, and i could see myself playing the assault hacking device eventually, but i'm much less excited about them than i was initially. Bloody zuyongs! - no nimbus. Probably a personnal taste, but it makes me a lot less confident when facing very powerful AROs. Overall the sectorial looks great. Fireteam flexibility and order farm is pretty much the name of the game, and it feels like one list could be able to tackle a lot of different opponents just by changing the way you form your fireteams. Downside is, it makes some units basically auto-include. To conclude, here's a list: LI madness ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 10 TAI SHENG (Chain of Command) Mk12, Chain-colt, Stun Grenade / Heavy Pistol, Knife. Well what about 16?
Correct but be advised in a link team the LT order must be spend by the NCO model and nobody else. Correct other factions, in TAK for example Veteran kazaks can fill a Frontovik core team with just by themselves.....
