Hi all Anyone have a photo of (or a model of) 1 of every knight type side-by-side for comparison? I'm super confused as to what knight sculpts are up-to-date and which are not. Clearly the Father Knights are new, as are the new Hospitallers which we've now seen new renders for. Besides those...seems like maybe the Knights of Montessa have new sculpts...are the Santiagos new as well? Magister Knights and Teutonic knights are definitely old... what about the KotHS?
LE Joan, MULTI Rifle Joan Hospitallars box Order Sergeants Box Knight of Montessa from Acontecimento starter Crusader Brethren with MULTI Rifle + light flamethrower Black Friar MULTI Rifle Father Knight Spitfire Father Knight from Operation Ice Storm Fusiliers from PanO Starter Fusiliers box Seraph TAG Tech Bee Warcor Indigo Konstantinos (unsure but he can definitely pass). These are as far as I know, all the MO troops who are both CAD sculpted and equipped with the newest PanO weapon designs.
New sculpts for include: Magisters, Teutons, and Montesa with Combi are all fairly old sculpts. Santiagos and Sepulchre Knights are old as well, have older weapon designs, but they've aged very well; especially Santiago with Spitfire. All of those, save for two running Santiagos, will look a bit smaller next to the newest knights, but most of the time it's not that big of a difference.
Can make a photo of most of them (bar new and old Montesa, and newest Joan), in the evening. But what was already said: old but great looking: KotHS Santiago Konstantinos old and good looking: Fersen old and not that great looking: Magister Hopsitallers (old) Teuton old Joans :P
The Montessa Knight in the Acon starter is brand new, and he's also big. He's about the size of a Father Knight, though his hunched pose makes him look a little smaller than the FKs. Magisters and Teutons are pretty small, but it kind of fits in with their aggressive manner. The Magisters still work because they're not really wielding any old weapons... The missile launcher sculpt is still current, and PanO hasn't had a redesign on the stand-alone light shotgun (the only resculpts have been for underbarrel light shotguns.) The rest of the old knights though suffer from having the old weapon designs. The old Combi rifles are particularly noticeable.
So basicly only the Santiago combi as there are no other old knights models with combi (except for mentioned Teutons). Both KotHS and Fersen are using modern Spitfires.
Well, old PanO Spitfire is still a great looking weapon, so it might not be an issue. Different SAW models, that's all.
For me both Spitfires are ok, but old BS is far superior to the new one. It's impossible to mistake it for the Combi Rifle to begin with. Old PanO HMG also looked good, far better than those from other factions. It was one of the things that made me start PanO, actually :P
He does look great, but he does look like my father knight and Joans teenage son when you stand them side by side. Just an issue of scale though, and as soon as they aren't stood side by side it's fine.
Yeah, it's something that is noticed mostly on display, rarely on the gaming table. Also, I do like the general direction our HIs design went in. They look massive and menacing now. Some of the poses could be changed, though, especially those involving swords.
How is LE joan size wise to new knights? Those new hospitalier knights kinda sold me to start collecting small MO force :)
