Hi Guys, I've just put my umbra samaritan together and i just wish that very lovely model would stand up for more than 2 seconds on it's 25mm base. Does anyone have any tips for counter balancing this model? Does filling the base with plaster work/help? Thanks in advance...!
Put the Samaritan on your shelf as a beautiful piece of art... then use one of the 3 Legate models as a proxy for it :P. Seriously, though... I put mine all the way towards the back of the base and he stands up alright as long as the terrain is perfectly level.
Heh, the wording made me think of this song first As for the Samaritan: filling the base with something heavy (some metal/lead garbage should work better than plaster) would help, but I'd recommend simply getting rid of the tactical lettuce. Maybe leaving just the top of it.
I can confirm placing sammy on the back of the base, with the tactical cabbage hanging off into space balances the model. https://www.instagram.com/p/BnrGA81nQRR/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=1ab2q7my1x9v4
I put the Samaritan's arms onto the Legate Hacker's body. It looks fairly different from the other two Legate sculpts, and I figured I'm fairly unlikely to need three Legates in a single game.
Yeah, back of the base and I put some lead weights on the rear underside of his base, seemed to help but he's still a bit precarious. So I just use my Umbra Hacker instead. :V
I cut about 12mm off the bottom of it. The tactical letuce was pinned into a resin base and blended with some gs. Brought it down closer to S2 without compromising the "floaty etherealness" of it.
Thanks Guys, Ended up getting some lead shot from ebay to stick under the base, after toying with the idea of increasing the base size. I've also gone and bought some slate to model onto the base as extra ballast. Hopefully that'll work...
Fill the back of the base with some green stuff or anything that would shift the center of gravity of the model. EDIT Oh saw that you already did that, nice!
