Well, folks, the count down is in motion. Between the 25th and 30th next week we will see the greatest overhaul of Pano come to fruition. As part of that we know Teutonica will form core and haris fireteams with magisters, an order sgt and potentially a wild Santiago. The question is, what will the Teuton actually look like? It's safe to say the current profile is no where near ready to be core link material. Assuming that they keep to the idea of a high burst weapon plus a long range weapon, what do you think the other weapons will be? What specialists will they get? What changes in their profile? Do they get the fable holy smoke grenades of Antioch?
I interupted my military orders painting plan to paint a Teuton up as I was so excited. I am preparing to be massively let down. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk
Wat. This isn't a good link to you??? Military Orders ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 5 4 TEUTONIC KNIGHT Spitfire / Pistol, AP CCW. (2 | 37) MAGISTER KNIGHT Missile Launcher / Pistol, DA CCW. (2 | 32) MAGISTER KNIGHT Panzerfaust, Light Shotgun / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 23) MAGISTER KNIGHT Panzerfaust, Light Shotgun / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 23) MAGISTER KNIGHT Panzerfaust, Light Shotgun / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 23) 4 SWC | 138 Points Open in Infinity Army
People didn't run to that when it was the Santiago who was far more versatile, I dont see why they would run to it now.
To be fair, the Santiago had to deal with competition from the HMG and Doctor which the Hospitallers could bring. Now that's no longer an option the Spitfire lead Magisters may be more popular.
Spitfire, khd, 2 da magister's and the missile launcher would be pretty solid... still needs something to help it get out of the deployment zone potentially, but it has the potential to be pretty nasty. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk
That's basically the DoTanko link in JSA with a bit more 'hacker be gone'. It doesn't need help getting out of the DZ, just a target.
given we dont know a lot of potential changes still to come (and CB has been playing a lot of this close to the chest) Id wait on judging tuetons until ARMY goes live
I'd like this on quite a lot of the old "mobility" HI. But I don't think we are going to get it. . To be clear, I'm not talking about the Santiago competing with the Teuton in the Magister Fireteam now. I'm talking about the "old" Military Orders and why we didn't see Santiago more often there, despite their very cool and interesting package of options.
Two of the biggest problems of the current Teutonic Profiles are the 1 SWC LT and the lack of specialists. They were outclassed by the Hospitalliers because they had the only linked HMG in a sectorial full of Spitfires and the Hospitalliers have a medic, which is one of the best speciallists for a HI army. The other linkable Spitfire of the sectorial were the Santiagos and they also had an specialist profile. Both of these links could have a 0 SWC Lt. So the only niche Teutons had was the Berserk + EXP CCW but, even then, the filler of every other HI fireteam already have a DA CCW + MA2 for 13 points less... In that state, a full core link doesn't gave you anything the other orders couldn't provide. This changes as a solo piece: The Spitfire profile is a steal so you can't care less that if he dies or becomes frenzy (although with only an AP CCW, Berserk it a bloat rule). Now with the upcoming changes, I have high hopes for them. CB gave each knightly order an unique role to perform: montesas have bikes, Sepulcher have Holo2 with CoC or FDlvl1, Santiagos provide hacking defense and Hospitalliers are still pretty good (but cannot link with MK anymore). So surely Teutons will have their own place. Recently, I've bought my third Teuton and I plan to run a core/haris whenever I can. I'm soooo hyped with the new narrative and they have a pivotal role in it, so now it's their time to shine! (If they are so important now, CB won't let them down, right?)
Ditto, hoping to complete all 3 of mine before the release and the massive backlash when they go up in price, lose berzerk, gain a flashpulse, and become journalists L2.
@Mikes Excellent job! I still doubt the new sculpts would be better than the old sword resting over the shoulder swagger pose
absolutely none. i will just be extra salty that their plan to make the teuton useful wont be making the teuton useful, but taking linkability away from hospitaller .....at which point people will use the santiago instead of the teuton. Because why the hell would i just throw a non stealth HI into my core link to slow it down ?
Tuetons are already a hard sell for me because they are cubeless, which makes them harder to heal. Their fluff is great but gamewise, meh. I'd love a major change to Tuetons, at least on par with the Santiago rework. But if nothing changes than Tuetons will be the one sour note in an otherwise amazing rework for MO.
The Teutons really seem like they're the 'working in vanilla or outside MO' build for the knights, oddly enough. Wait, was that confirmed?!? Yeah, the pre-CAD poses had a lot more movement and attitude in them for the most part. The old Santiago Spitfire was so badass it inspired an RP character (a Mandalorian in a SW game set in the Old Republic).
