Hi there, thanks for checking out my thread. Im fairly new to Infinity and I chose NCA as my first army. Love NCA so far <3 Anyway, Im excited about our new Deva AHD but i havnt seen much written about him. Ive been thinking about how to put him to work and settled on this all-comers list: Deva AHD ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 10 SWISS GUARD HMG / Pistol, AP CCW. (2 | 68) FUSILIER Missile Launcher / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 15) FUSILIER Hacker (Hacking Device) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 18) FUSILIER Lieutenant Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10) FUSILIER Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10) FUSILIER Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10) BULLETEER Spitfire / Electric Pulse. (1 | 23) DEVA (Assault Hacking Device UPGRADE: Lightning) Boarding Shotgun, Nanopulser / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 28) HEXA Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0 | 27) MACHINIST Combi Rifle, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) PALBOT Electric Pulse. (0 | 3) GROUP 2 6 PATHFINDER DRONBOT Combi Rifle, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 16) PATHFINDER DRONBOT Combi Rifle, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 16) TRAUMA-DOC Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 14) PALBOT Electric Pulse. (0 | 3) FUGAZI DRONBOT Flash Pulse, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 8) FUGAZI DRONBOT Flash Pulse, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 8) FUGAZI DRONBOT Flash Pulse, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 8) 5.5 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army With 6 repeaters this list has serious hacking potential. One possible issue is a lack of dedicated ARO (aside from the fusilier ML). What do you guys think?
I'd swap the Bulleteer into group 2 and one of the Pathfinders into group 1. You have a lot of people in the first group that I see fighting for orders, between the link, hackers, bulleteer and swiss guard. It's always worth having a good gunfighter in that 2nd group so it isn't poaching orders from your better guns in group 1.
I'm not sure I agree. I think it's a well worked out list. At least to my own play style. That link is mostly an order generation defensive link. The ML can hit hard in ARO, the hacker can run supportware. If the ML goes down the main job of the Fusiliers is to provide cost effective orders to the rest of the units while protecting the Lt. That gives you a pool of 4-5 orders to power all the pieces in the main pool on top of their own orders. Depending on how the game goes you can redirect your attack using any of those pieces. The pacemakers can provide a great sprong board with those fughazis orders to hit hard and being mech deployed they can achieve more with less orders earlier on. As they're G synced you can't coordinate them so keeping the bulleteer in the main pool and allow it to coordinate with other units like the hexa and Swiss.
It's a good list. I'd second the idea of tweaking the Combat Groups, so that you have some additional gunfighting in group 2. Still, 2 Pathfinders running objectives and Sensor sweeping can be a great use of orders depending in mission and matchup.
I will also speak to swapping the Bulleteer into Group 2. I always want one specialist and one attack piece in any group of 3+ orders. But this is a damn solid list and you should get out and play some games with it before you make any swaps. See how it feels for you and THEN think about what else you might want to do.
Thanks for the replies, everyone. While Pollitt is correct about how i use the fusilier link, I still really like the idea of moving the bulleteer down to group 2 to make the best use of all available orders. However, this creates a new problem of the second pathfinder sitting all alone in group one. I want to replace him with something (2 might have been overkill to begin with), but 16 points is an awkward number. 1 too few for a second bulleteer, 1 too many for a csu + warcor. I dont really see anything else Id want to cut to make more room, either. Then theres the extra .5 swc lying around... Any suggesyions?
Why on earth would having a Pathfinder in both groups be a problem? I VERY often have one in both groups. They are one of our best specialists, and an amazing utility tool. Run one in both groups = profit.
I'd drop the fusilier hacker and pathfinder into an evo and whatever specialist fusilier you fancy. Having B2 flashpulse on the fugazi and bulleteer on 1st reactive turn has spoilt some of my opponent's games. Evo also allows you to coordinate hack, no penalty on satlock with the pathfinder as well as rerolling a hacking roll with 1 command token.
I'm open to trying one in both groups, might be the best option for the points. Hmmm, not a bad idea, think id get value out of the evo in this list? There is value in the EVO to give your Pathfinders and Fugazi burst 2 for their Flash Pulse AROs, and the Bulleteer also gets to join in the fun! Now, there is ALSO value in having your Fusilier Hacker in the Fireteam, because that gives it Sixth Sense, so there IS a tradeoff. And the biggest loss in that new list is actually the second Pathfinder. But it's still damn solid, and still worth playing. Seriously, stop asking for feedback and get out and play one of those builds in some games.
What admiral said. There's definitely some sort of trade of, but my local meta uses more Rambo units for an alpha strike like Achilles and tariq, so I tend to include more speed bumps to protect my order pool.
