Well, on the other hand, if you count all the unique KHD profiles (including the future Santiago Knight KHD) and take the average number of KHD's distributed between the armies, then there's an average of 3 KHD per army PanO: 2 YJ: 3 Haqq: 4 Nomads: 6 Combined: 2 Aleph: 5 Tohaa: 1 Ariadna: 0 NA2: 4 Considering we are branded as a Jack-of-all-trades army, it fits quite well that we are on the upper-end of average. :) That said, I'd be sad if a non-stealth HI army (unlike MO) would be left to only rely on Tinbots to fend for themselves, I can see that making some matchup very binary all of the sudden. I just had a tournament playing Tunguska LI and I absolutely milked that Hollowman Pitcher for every drop against an Ikari Wu-Ming Core and a JSA Domaru Core. Both armies weren't even HI focused beyond those Cores and even they got crippled by a simple Pitcher, IA absolutely needs something to combat this problem if CB truly wish to make a HI army playable. Also, not to dogpile further on the Zhencha but he really would be the ideal platform for this, like make him deal with non-marker hackers before you advance with the core army, which is why I'm so disappointed with his hacking profile.
We have had units not get their entire set of profiles spoiled in teaser trailers before, just the ones CB thought were most interesting.
TBH you can't count the Szalamandra pilot. And bevor Tunguska there wehere only 3 KHD (Zero, Bandit and Interventor)
As if I would let my opponent assemble my minis...they are precious to me... All of which are 25 points or under and spread equally among the sectoral. The ability to almost casually cover specialist rolls outside of CoC is a major feature of the faction.
Yeah, but Yu Jing and Pan-O are short on force multiplier in the form of Repeaters while Tohaa and Ariadna completely lack force multipliers such as Repeaters but on the other hand do not really have many assets to protect from hacking. Add the last quality which is WIP where WIP 13 really is below average and you will have that by design Yu Jing and Pan-O are both firmly on the lower end of this Hacking scale. It's not just counting profiles or AVA, there's so much more to it meaning that now after CA has received two KHD, both of which have Pitchers, both Yu Jing and Pan-O are at a bare minimum. So yes, it's very possible there's going to be more KHD in the future, but this is a faction that's designed to be one of two bottom feeders (by both being exposed to hacking and being bad at hacking) and dressing it up otherwise sets the wrong expectations. And this is fine. Just means that the faction might need a thorough look at other means of handling the Hacking problem than trying to brute force it with more hackers and hacking gear.
How is PanO and Yu Jing short on Repeaters? :-O The combat remotes are seen consistently and provide the best possible source of repeaters. PanOs even start in midfield!
Not a single Pitcher between them and very few DepReps each. Normal Repeaters are kind of bad at being Repeaters, what you want is a Repeater that you can deliver with 0 risk of it being fried by Blackout ARO and that can be delivered with as little risk of it being shot down by a random ARO before it gets where it needs to be. Guilang and Crocmen are decent delivery methods as such, but neither are BIT, Barid or Druze KHD level of good where they have a self-contained delivery method on a competent KHD platform.
I think it was in reference to deployable repeaters, particularly in the form of pitchers, fast pandas and the like. I agree that access to remotes with repeaters are pretty consistent across factions but there is a significant difference in access to other types of repeaters.
We can be a bit more aggressive in moderating, true, but somehow the posters that feel let down are usually the ones who start the fight and we would rather have the "opposing viewpoint" represented in the forums, regardless of if we agree or not, rather than silenced. Hence why we ask the dialogue to be done in a calm and polite manner, preferably constructive, both for the health of the discussion, but also the assimilation of potential feedback. We can ban people for some time and forever, we just view it as a last resort, not as a problem solver.
I disagree on value, as Order expenditure to deploy Pitchers is already a disadvantage in my opinion, not to mention the chance to fail. Also, deploying the Pitchers sounds better in theory than in practice due to the need to get somewhere where you can see target, at which point you're risking a TO model, or first need to clear the known AROs out of the way. Finally, if you are set on deployed Repeaters, Guilang or Crocmen are much better option in my opinion as they start in midfield and deploy with 100% chance, whereas Pitchers are rolls.
I often see pitchers being speculatively fired, which I'm actually happy to see - usually there's a less than 50% chance of success, even in the best rangebands. And, only 2 attempts. That said, I've had outrageous luck with my JSA, speculatively firing E/M grenades on 5s in desperation!
slipped my mind because of all the complain in the discussion in general, sorry there. Also, PanO now has a KHD Zulu Cobra, so you can pump that 2 into a 3 :)
Damn, that sounds sweet! This is super annoying because Varuna is the only aspect of PanO I've ever really liked enough to consider buying (except for the Nisse). Like they have everything I love about PanO, berets on Fusiliers, literally everything about the Croc-Men, Orcs and the Navy Seals-esque Kamau.
I think is the most special ops group of a professional army feel in all Infinity, CB hit the nail in the head with this one
I'm hoping that's the case given there aren't many. Wasn't there a precedence with some of the Tunguska units?
Also with some of the units from Coldfront, giving only the profiles for the minis in the box, not the full profiles that were later opened up when TAK and OperationS were added to Army.
