K, bros. Let's gather up some insight and find out a way of our bomb-boy. Frankly, I am now building a roster AND getting a game. I saw many people actually trying Zhencha, and the results were good enough, at least for me, to chuckle at our new toy. I've been waiting for this sectorial, and its theme for ages. Whether it turns into a slapstick hacking comedy, or turns out to be something to look upon, IMHO it's not fair to just throw this unit out, branding it as garbage. Call me stupid, but I will post the aftermath on the weekends. Wish me luck.
I don't think the lower damage has changed how I will look to use it. Im thinking to use it to drop in areas where there might be a corner guard or one unit covering. Somewhere where the bsg can get some work done. Bonus if it's a valuable 1 W piece. Your opponent will be stuck deciding between dodging or shooting. Alternatively if the opportunity presents I think I'd try get the hacker or the Lt of it's obvious.
Tbh if they were worried about the damage of explode they should have just made it a smoke template that deploys before land but after scatter. For how it was hype its pretty lacklustre.
I'm thinking about what if it's used on my own guys. Say Zhanshi, if he lands next to them in line of sight I'll just eat it to shoot/hack him. Because of the low damage, I have a pretty good chance of making the ARM. If I'm out of line of sight, they dodge. 50% chance to dodge, 45% to save. Either way, it's not going to do much. it's just inconvenient. So as of now, i'm not impressed. Edit: I'm also talking about a lone Zhanshi. Not a fireteam. But I think the same scenario stands. I'd eat it and shoot/hack or Dodge.
If that Zhanshi is your only hacker, however, you have a problem. Same with any other 1W unit that is key to your strategy. I know when I think about running Liu Xings against my own Bakunin that I'd be looking for chances to knock out any Observancy units, given their price and template vulnerability. I'm thinking the Liu Xing could be a terror in Highly Classified, assassinating specialists such as Doctors and Engineers to deny Objective Points, or in Decapitation if used cautiously to bypass the enemy front line.
And I Imagined Caskuda boomfart TBH. Shock ammo round template boom. Yeah, ELX is.. unsatisfying, I admit, and the word lackluster fits in when we see him in that degree. Speaking of, I'm planning on dropping him into that goddamn Symbiomate army. They got almost no hacker, and Y'know, that army got a lot of targets to boomfart on like. HMG mimetism mummy That sapper guy Pokemon masters, even more juicy when they say 'come back, LT!' MSV Sniper guy Since Liu Xing will land right into their back skull, HFT doggies would pose a threat, but they are not quite able to cover up a whole DZ. I'll laugh at they make a tough decision between losing a Symbio or eating a proper MR or Shotgun.
The problem is those guys will surely just tank the save with symbioarmor/Pokemons and just shoot you in the face. Tohaa is really tough, some of their mechanics seem busted.
Thanks to Bioimmunity, Tohaa's not really capable of killing a Liu Xing with one shot in ARO unless you messed up your drop and let several shoot at once- or one in a Triad. After that, active turn gives some good odds, and Tohaa really feels it if you start killing units thanks to Triads breaking.
While your words are right, Tohaa is kinda weird army to fight against, but I'd like to add some more to it. ;) I faced Tohaa very often - like, once in a week - and found out they become surprisingly weak when you take out the mate. They don't fear tanking off ML shots, MSRs, whatever they like. But one thing they fear is the shot, one very meager shot, which in this game has potential odds to peel off their symbio armor. This makes a hard gamble for them; whether crack the mate for good-for-nothing damage, or risk a gamble which is wagering their whole resilence mechanic, i.e. symbioarmor. They bolster themselves with Symbios, and when that goes off, Tohaa is actually not that hard to crack open. One more I can tell about this; if ELX succeed in stripping their symbionoun, you already break their will to attack. This is why Im planning to use Liu Xing against Tohaa, which seems a very fair unit to throw upon. Bioimmune is the cherry on top. Yeah, strip that viral keyword from those Sakiel and Nikouls. You will get one moar like, good bro.
One thing I would like to ask; I'm assuming the fart will be circular template, and if you boom someone in their back, does that appeal -3 on dodging? @ijw help here please!
yes. If you fall on their back they apply the -3 due to template rules Try to make a 2 liuxing list (I'm not so sure it will be legal on Vanilla yujing, but it might bring more intel on the unit). I've heard from testers that the BS profile it's the expendable profile to be thrown to the enemy and the other two are more polivalent. So, they work better in tandem, with the BS clearing a landing point or in further turns (over unaware/revealed skirmishers near objectives) Good luck
Its 55% -60% to down a low arm model. That's pretty similar to getting a free chain rifle shot on landing if they choose to shoot you. If they choose dodge then great. You follow up with point blank shotguns, which are in the range of 60s% to wound most targets in a face to face. Obviously this is the good application. Like many things, your opponent might counter deploy for this. In which case, you might hold off for a turn and see what opportunities present themselves. Or just walk on and use it like a beefy AD troop. You don't lose much by not using explode.
shooting to a liuxing with a zanshi is a 55% chance of dying. Dodging without LoS is a 35% of succeeding (remember the -3) And regarding the need of ELX to be impresive... you know Explode LX is probably a 1p skill don't you? You basically have a zuyong with bioinmunity and combat jump that has no unconscious state (Something that for a paratrooper is a gift) for just 6 mere points. What do you want it to be, A troop that spends 1 order to enter the table and just auto takes 20-40 points of the enemy?
You don't seem to understand that's precisely the problem, that it's only a Zuyong with 2 wounds and a rocket pack. That's decent, but nothing that justificates any hype nor the fabled "design space" we supposedly needed. It's just a more resilient, less firefight capable Tiger, which is pretty lackluster as a premiere reveal for such an anticipated Sectorial.
That's wrong because you've forgotten to factor in you need to pass another roll to land first. Even under optimal conditions of supportware and no F2F rolls it lowers the success rate to 26%.
If you mean Camo Markers, then only if there's another valid target under the template - otherwise Explode doesn't go off, apparently!
