Oh yes, I love myself some Hulang speculation in the morning! Having been the only new unit that hasn't been spoiled in any sense (no dossier, no info, nothing) I think they may as well be a "wow factor". The low AVA makes me happy, because I'm my eyes it means they are either strong, cool or both. Taking into account we already have one of (if not the) best HI in the game in our other sectorial (Kitty cat) I'd expect this guys to be some kind of wilder Su Jians... I know, it's pure speculation, but the big-dog name, the shock part, the fact they seem to be too good to have more than AVA 2 on the army... It makes me wonder if they are not the wild, super jumping, hard hitting dogs I expect them to be. I'm just daydreaming, but it's fun to do so.
As it seems to be a Skirmisher, I wouldn't expect more than 1W/STR for the Hulang, maybe NWI or Dogged. Super-Jump sounds good and hopefully high MOV. I hope it won't be a Bike, as I don't find them fitting for IA and Yu Jing in General and as we have the Su Jian, I guess this will be the way for fast Yu jIng troops.
Uhhh no it's sub 40pts and it brings its own tinbot (it's KHD+deflector tinbot profile), and it can link with literally anything because it's wildcard. Have you even looked at this shit or are you just blowing smoke out your ass because you feel you need to be contrary? I haven't seen anyone wishlisting for a MI KHD, Is anybody even expecting MI to even be in the sectorial? Yu Jing basically doesn't even have any MI outside of Tigers. Nah dude. It's 38pts 0 SWC for the KHD+Tinbot profile. You can see the profiles in the Pan-O week video on the CB channel. It's a fucking crazy value profile, also has D-Charges. Between Redrum, Kaleidoscope, and the Tinbot you can stack -9 MODs on any hackers trying to come after your link which basically equates to fuck off and leave us alone, or die via your brains leaking out your nose.
Being a command unit I would expect Lt 2 instead, as well as options for Advanced command or CoC. Such kind of unit must be too busy leading the operation to waste time bunny jumping around. The podcast defines them as "the brains of IA". The mines suggest minelayer in at least one of the options. It makes sense to entrench in your DZ while camping for the enemy.
(edited)Considering location in the list and the AVA... this might be what we were expecting the Zhencha to be.
Heh. I guess that's a personal definition. But something with 2 wounds and deployment skills that doesn't ape Daofei should about cover it. All things considered, for symmetry reasons I expect CC-orientation on Hulang and that might not be everyone's cup of tea.
Did I miss something? : The IA starter is announced? Do we know what it contains? I stayed at the probable release of January but without further information about the content or even the existence of a starter pack...
The MO starter (edit: and reworked profiles) is a known quantity and it's looking good. Otherwise you didn't miss much as long as you caught the spoilers which you'll find among the first 5 threads on this forums, IA remains an unknown quantity with regards to starter box and several profiles; Daoying (command model is known), Shang-Ji (reworked, but how much?), Hulang (no info at all), Mowang (mimetic S5, Arm5, W2, NWI, but little else), Tai Sheng (NCO, female mini and fluff, but little else), Haidao (Engineer(s?), but little else), and no real info on which Pangolin is FTO, which Yan Huo is FTO, whether Son-Bae has FTO separation or not, and a bit more...
I believe he's implying that MO appear to be the superior HI faction. Whether or not that pans out to be true will probably come down to how effectively IA can deal with the Infowar specialist armies fucking with them. MO got a really good answer, we're still to see if IA has anything yet.
Ok, so compare the announced and shown MO Army pack with a "IA starter" that just does not exist yet makes no sense "TBH"...
Take it as you will, personally I can understand the idea is compelling of MO becoming a proper HI sectorial instead of just TOFOOS spam while IA hasn't made the best show so far, the latter I would put down to the parade unit chosen being the Zhencha who does almost literally the same as Dart who was revealed in the same time frame, but worse than Dart on almost all accounts which leaves the Zhencha as a button pusher and little else to be excited about. It might be an irrational comparison, but it's understandable.
I don't know who's telling you that but the only time I don't see a single hacker on the table is when I'm playing against Tohaa or Ariadna. Even the Pan-O players show up with the Fusi at least for Bulleteer buffs. I just had my shit pushed in tonight by an MO Knight pain train and they still had a Fusi hacker along for the ride. I think you'll find people bitch about AHDs being undertuned, which they are, but AHDs still turn up because there are profiles that are still cost effective with them, like Post Humans.
You've clearly missed the fact that several people know exactly how shit IA are going to be and need to do the rest of us a favour and tell us repeatedly. Mostly based on their own completely unfounded* opinion about the Zhencha and Liu xing being unusable. And because they were the previews they must be the best CB have to offer. * Because actually trying something before taking a huge dump on it is too much work.
Just to add, according to a chinese friend of mine Hulang is Fox or Tiger & Wolf, together it means ferocious, savage. From the position it is in the list, i can't only be one of two things, Mechanized Troop (TAGs and some bikers like Mavericks or Montessa) or Special Trained Troops (Guilang, Zhencha, Ninja, etc, that doesn't always mean Skirmish, it also includes troops like Su-Jian, Karakuri and Aragoto).
And a single fusilier hacker is going to be pretty rubbish at holding up a tinbot b link. To the point that if your opponent is bothering to surf orders putting repeaters near you, you're probably winning the game. And that's if you don't drop a Liu xing on the hacker. Most times against ariadna, tohaa there won't be hackers. Hackers are common. Competent, dangerous hackers with a repeater net are not as common.
