The upside I see with Tuetons is that the Spitfire, panzerfausts and Berserk don't have counterparts among Hospitallers. Hospitallers are great, and will certainly remain a staple of Core teams, but Teuton + Magisters are better for being throwaway-cheap and doing decisive damage, which is a nice role for a Haris. If I'm buying 3 Hospitallers, I'm probably okay buying one more and an Order Sgt for a Core link. Just preference though. I'll have to wait and see the full context of the release before deciding anything.
But for the spitfire you could wildcard a santiago into the haris.Which comes with dtw and a 360 visor. Also throwing a teuton in a haris with 2 magisters suddenly makes it vulnerable to hacking. Which seems like a design flaw.
Seems like Teutons will be the cheapest knight with high burst weapon. Spitfire. This is emphasized because they can fill with as many Magisters as they want. Also, they can bring OS or Santiago specialists. I don't know if they will be worth using them over hospitaliers or Santiagos, but they are getting a hell of an improvement and options. I really hope they realease some good looking good miniatures for them though. Everything in OM is getting love. I'm only still worried about Holy Sepulchre Knights, and slightly concerned about the Seraph (call me weird, but I like it as it is today).
Access to EXP CCW and Berzerk? The question is if the price drop makes this a better option than the Magister with DA CCW.
Santiago wildcart Spitfire can do that better probably (also giving specialist), and option for DTW, dcharges and EM grenades. Its really that Teutons (thier current profile) just got even more obsolete (with Hosp Haris and Santiago Wildcart). Teutons need now really big selling poimt to be in any way relevant.
They are the main characters this time, with the assault of the CA to their fortress. I hope they get something
I definitely hope that Teutons get something cool. They were in charge of guarding/researching alien tech. What if they were able to reverse-engineer a plasma pistol or something? We know Aleph has already done it.
I thought that the Teutons were the neoluddite MO? IIRC they take out their cubes to keep from getting Sepsitorized, it's part of joining the order formally. Especially given what happened with the Templars, that the Teutons seem like they'd be used as guards specifically because they have ZERO interest in the alien tech.
Teutons with Haris and some more interesting loadouts would be what they need, I think. The base profile and skillset is mostly fine, and they are the most dangerous Knight in CC because Berserk.
Personally I hope Teutons will get a loadout with a DTW. A HFT would fit them perfectly. Not to mention that it's baffling that knights' Order primed for CC has no access to shotguns.
This list is now possible, by replacing a Hospitalier member by an Order Sergeant (assuming any one Fireteam capable OS can join): PanOceania ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 8 2 TIKBALANG AP HMG, Heavy Flamethrower / DA CCW. (2 | 85) CRABBOT Flash Pulse / Knife. () ORDER SERGEANT Paramedic (MediKit) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) KNIGHT HOSPITALLER Doctor (MediKit) MULTI Rifle / Pistol, AP CCW. (0 | 39) KNIGHT HOSPITALLER HMG / Pistol, AP CCW. (2 | 39) KNIGHT OF SANTIAGO Lieutenant (Specialist Operative) Spitfire, Nanopulser, E/M Grenades / Pistol, DA CCW. (1 | 43) KNIGHT OF SANTIAGO Hacker (Killer Hacker Device) Combi Rifle, Nanopulser, D-Charges + TinBot A (Deflector L1) / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 38) SIERRA DRONBOT HMG / Electric Pulse. (1 | 25) FUGAZI DRONBOT Flash Pulse, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 8) TECH-BEE (Remote Assistant Level 1, Specialist Operative) Flash Pulse / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 5) WARCOR (Aerocam) Flash Pulse / Stun Pistol, Knife. (0 | 3) 6 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army There are literally 5 specialists, and 6 if you count the Crabbot (and you should, he can leave the Tikbalang without activating the model, stay in its shadow, and activate a beacon without being targeted). Of course, this list would be starving for Command Tokens most of the game, converting Irregular Order into regular ones. It's possible to rework it to include other models instead of the Sierra, for example, and having a bit more Regular orders.
I would rather have Teutons remain fairly cheap. You don't want a "premium" model to throw away into CC. Especially not one with Berserk.
With all the other profile revamps we have seen it would be downright bizarre to not see a Teuton revamp. So many parts of that unit seem stuck in N2 design limitations when the faction has really started to move past that. I would not be surprised to see a Heavy Shotgun profile, maybe another one with a DTW, and (by the grace of god) one with Eclipse Grenades. The Spitfire profile might even take a dive if it means that the unit’s role gets revamped into the premier CQB Knight choice. And I’d be completely fine with that. Make the unit reliant on other models to fight at range, either a Wildcard Santiago Spitfire or even a model outside the link (hello new Tik!). End of the month cannot come soon enough. These drip-fed spoilers are KILLING me inside!
That was meant to be premier not premium, got auto corrected. The teuton already costs too much to berserk. Hi with berserk should either be in domaru range or be actually terrifying to engage like ajax
