I would like to add onto this that they’re probably about to fall and break their leg. I don’t imagine that doing a HALO jump and landing on a tactical rock is very good for your ankle. Same goes for combat heels.
Agreed. The Super-Hero landing puts alot of stress on the body which should be avoided in a combat situation since you are in one of the most stressful type of events in the world.
Hmmm, I never thought of those poses as them landing, but more using their jump packs to maneuver at ground level... which, of course, is not at all supported by their skill set.
Reposting from 2013 .... 14829-fabruary-2013-speculation-thread Why do these unfortunate cultural misunderstandings keep happening? Ko Dali (Not wearing the fancy new backpack): Well, see you guys. I'm jumping down to the battlefield now. (She walks up to the hatch of the drop ship, and prepares to open the hatch.) Vector Operator #1: What!?! That's not safe. You can't AD without safety equipment. Ko Dali: But none of the Operators have any special gear... Caskuda: You're working for the El now. Either you're born with wings, or you put on the safety backpack. Iskaller: Yeah. Not using proper safety equipment hurts everyone. (A second Vector operator comes over with her new signature backpack.) Ko Dali: But I've been jumping without one my entire career. Rasyat: It's spelled out right here. "Always work safely with the proper safety equipment" in your New Operative Guidebook. Vector Operator #2: And if you need to cross difficult terrain, you can switch it to that mode ... Ko Dali: But it looks like a prop from an old action movie. Rasyat: (Points at the rack of Rasyat safety backpacks.) Would you rather use one of those? Ko Dali: "Of course the El has plans for humanity. Full workspace safety. Why do you look confused? Look well at her, humans. She is the face of the future. The face of your future. Why do you look at me like that?" -- What Prison CA-S00208, Strategic Safety Operative, really said. Basically air brakes or sci-fi replacements for parachutes are about the only plausible explanation for whatever-the-heck it is that AD models have on their backs. :)
For anyone interested, it looks like Mike's pretty spot on here. Out of all the Varuna dossiers, only the Echo Bravo has that particular setup for the kneepads and upper shin guard. And before anyone tries to say "But the Kamau!"...Kamau have a knife attached to their leg. EB doesn't. :) Shame about the massive fuckall tactical rock though.
I don't think Shas were ever mentioned to go OOP in the first place, this particular approach started with FRRM. Shas were simply put on hold - aside from some minimal updates, like getting Aida - until they were getting their redesign, which is in the works right now and will probably get revealed in Q1/Q2 2019.
In that case, did anyone manage to 'acquire' pictures? For those that don't know, it's an old military joke. 'acquired' means 'we stole it while nobody was looking, and now there is no way to prove that it wasn't ours to begin with.' Example: Marine officer: Where did you get that Humvee, corporal? Marine Corporal, making sure that the Army unit markings are painted over before cheerfully answering: I 'acquired' it, sir! Officer: Carry on, then! Old to the extent of some of Henry V's troops making it, I'm sure. A version with a different word probably dates all the way back to the army of Pharaoh, or the ancient armies of China...
I said "basic", i.e. Combi Rifle one from the starter. I know the AD troop tip-toe is nothing new. It's just getting more ridiculous on the tactical rock side lately. I hope Raoul Spectior will be modeled on guard with his escrima sticks and two backpack options: regular or AD one.
I was thinking on the old Aco starter and the old Akalis. All of them are step on one foot. https://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2016/4/27/795936_md-Akalis%2C%20Infinity%2C%20Akalis%20with%20Boarding%20Shotgun.jpg But they are pretty awesome, the old and the new ones.
According to a distributor website the December releases are: Kurgat Autocannon Odalisque spitfire Bandit Repack Dakini Kaauri sentinels repack* Securitates Zulu Cobra Jammer * edited to avoid confusion
Why are there more Kaauri Sentinels listed? We already have 4 and only have an AVA of 4. We have one for each profile as well. Releasing more in December makes no sense when there are a ton of other Tohaa profiles that could use a miniature. That has to be a typo.
