His list was full of Yuan Yuans and the holoecho AD guys. (something I forgot about when deploying my forces) I got first turn and the Vet Kazak led fireteam was unstoppable. Unfortunately the 2nd turn the AD guys dropped and Voronin ate a grenade along with a bunch of other models. (yes I bunched up too much) I ended up losing the game by one objective point. So the fireteam was excellent, the Spetsnaz was awesome of course, but the Strelok didn't really do anything.
@Madmac37 - Excellent avatar, comrade, and with much better resolution! Yuans are a huge pain, and it's not easy to remember that they are available to more than one army now *sigh*. Other than that it sounds like you played a good game. I definitely recommend giving the Strelok a few more tries, they have been clutch for me in a few games. On another note, my local group is doing a custom scenario escalation league that I'm running TAK for. Next week's mission revolves around FO's, and scoring points by forward observing and flash-pulsing enemy models and objectives. This cracked me up, because I realized that TAK can run a slew of lists where every single model has FO. This is what I'm going to run for 175 points. Either way, he has a flashlight, and that's all that matters.
Love the color choice on your Voronin, momo234. Yeah I think I will give the strelok another go, the Vet Kazak led fireteam was so good I used all the orders on them. Wasn't really fair to the Strelok at all. Damn that is a lot of forward observers. The reason I had so many FOs in my list was to try and get some use out of the Katyusha MRL on the tractor muls. I didn't get a chance to use them at all. I just converted a marauder into a T2 sniper Vassily, so will be using him in my next game.
Ah. I have been doing that wrong, then. I have been running them all under a single normal sized camo token since I started playing Infinity shortly after its initial release in the United States. ... How long has it been changed?
Huh. Ya folk are givin me vibes of Ariadnans being easy to play armies... *thinking emote* I dunno if I would go with Ariadna or Nomads as second army of iNfinity to choose... though I do have seen Ariadna Vanilla minis at my local wargamers ”club” (players seem to be in ”sleep mode” currently, though the iNfinity scenery/buildings are in active use with other miniwargames...)
@Demotron Ariadna was my first army, and branching out into others I can see how it'll influence how you play the game. I can say without a doubt that they do feel very different compared to the Druze and IA/First world armies I've picked up. No hacking, lethal yet squishy miniatures. By easy to play do you mean easy mode? Sort of, not really. As there's some miniatures out there where you'll bleed away your entire list trying to counter, MSV2 boys are your nightmare, as is fighting things like ODD or TO camo without a flamethrower and good LOS blocking. Viral tears us to shreds and can be devastating to attempt to overcome. However, easy to pick up? Absolutely, their style can be pretty clear cut and the sectoral's niche can be more or less summed up in 1 sentence.
By ”easy”, I mean Ariadna being type of ”not so many things to think about, just ambush & blast your opponents” faction.
