This one came up at Arizona Armageddon, and while I am near certain there is a ruling somewhere on this (probably old forums) I can't find it for the life of me. Please link if you do! So the question is as follows: You have an Antipode pack of 3 doggies, and 2 sadly get obliterated by AROs while the last makes it to his target in melee. Is he immobilized due to no longer being in the ZoC of another member, or is he able to spend orders/ARO normally? http://infinitythewiki.com/en/Antipode In particular, the relevant section would be: To me it seemed from the above that it would mean the last little doggie was Imm-2, but I was told that it was ruled otherwise...somewhere. So if you know and have the ruling/answer on hand, let me know please!
EDIT - I think that text is missing a reference to the Spearhead Antipode who, presumably, remains immune to the immobilisation. (But I've never read the rules for them before)
Correct. The last Antipode in a pack automatically enters IMM-2 state, and will stay in IMM-2 state until there is another pack member in ZoC and not in a Null state.
If he made it CC in the first skill, he could declare a CC with the second skill. He only becomes IMM-2 at the end of the order.
Probably like in link team, nothing happens (you check coherency before first short skill and after 2nd short skill).
Nope. The way Antipode specifies it, it doesn’t matter whose Order it is for entering or leaving 8”. For instance, if you evac’d two immobilized antipodes back into range, the state change happens right away. It’s not a Coherency check. The Antipode rules would probably need some cleanup to work with those new rules.
Just to reinforce this - you check at the end of the Order. So nothing happens during the Order in which pack members are lost or end up too far apart. Note that it doesn't matter why there are no other pack members in ZoC, just that there aren't. So if the one in the middle gets shot and the remaining two are too far apart, they're out of ZoC of another pack member and will both enter IMM-2.
So, if there is only one antipode left from a pack, it goes into IMM-2 state? Like if the other two are in a null state and there is only one left, it immediately goes into IMM-2 and never recover?
Yes, a lone Antipode will always be IMM-2. Though if it's packmates recover from their Null state and are in ZoC they will no longer be IMM-2
