Is the Jammer not being listed as Comms Equipment a mistake?

    Crazy, I always told my opponents they could Blackout it, because I assumed it is Comms Equipment due to the Comms Attack.
    CB...FAQ that, it doesnt make sense to not have it.

    I believe a Comms attack is intended to be a common skill granted by using a weapon with the comms attack label.
    Just like BS attack is a common skill granted by using a BS weapon, CC attack is a skill for CC weapons, etc.
    When you're using a Jammer, it is considered a "short skill", and it has the "No LoF" label so you are using a skill that doesn't require LoF, thus meeting the requirements of that bullet point.

    Just like a BS attack is defined as "Common Skill employed to attack in ranged combat using a BS Weapon or another suitable weapon or piece of Equipment."

    Unfortunately, unlike BS Attack, there's no generic "Comms Attack" short skill.

    @Pr01yfic

    But that's not the defintion of "Comms Attack." You are making that up. Comms attack is not a skill it is a label. These are actually defined.

    "Comms Attack.
    The use of this Special Skill or piece of Equipment is a form of Attack that allows the target to declare Reset as a response."

    The short skill you mentioned being used is actually exactly BS attack.

    "The user of a Jammer can declare a BS Attack using his WIP Attribute against a target within his ZoC. However, this weapon does not require LoF to the target."

    http://infinitythewiki.com/en/Jammer

    Again nothing in here that allows you to deviate from rules.

    What should allow the no-LoF ARO in my opinion should be the label "No LoF." But apparently (at least to my knowledge) this label is explained nowhere in the rules at all. (Why have it then?)

    But again this entire discusssion is moot because we got an "official" answer.

    @CabalTrainee

    Oh totally, hence my preface that "I believe it's intended" and not "It is written as"

    Sorry I skipped to the part of discussion that said "they already said it was intended this way" and compare that to the current state of the wiki as written

    An idea for N4 would be to just have a skill called "Attack" that then gets the label Ranged, Melee, Comms, etc. depending on the weapon being used.
