I've used Cherry Blossoms Pink (1:87) from MiniNatur. Just teared off petals and cut big ones with knife.
How do you do this texturing on your highlights ? for exemple on the kuge robe and keisotsu hakama Fanstastic painting.
Another update: kempeitai with smr this time. My favorite sculpt out of keisotsu link, although I had to get rid of that tactical something under her boot. Spoiler: More of Kempeitai Thanks man! About texturing. I start with opaque coat of base tone, then i apply highlights as if I do layering but i do paint tiny dots (keisotsu) or strokes (kuge) next to each other with small amount of paint on brush tip. Paint consistence again as in layering - not too thin nor thick. And in this case I tend to paint highlights lighter than i want it to be and then apply glaze of basecoat to smoothen texture a bit.
Spoiler: Pics of bottles and palette So, only 3 bottles used: AV Fantasy-Pro 74.010 Frozen Flesh AV Model Color 70.986 Deck Tan AV Model Color 70.918 Ivory Deck tan as a basetone. Mix of it with Ivory for highs (50\50). Small amount of pure Ivory for brightest spots. Mixes of deck tan with frozen flesh (up to pure one) for shadows. It's recipe for keisotsu 1 and 2. Keisotsu 3 was painted before them and actually have a bit different recipe. Instead of deck tan there was scalecolor SC-02 Nacar. And between nacar and frozen flesh I've used AV Fantasy-Pro 74.001 Cold Flesh. Same recipe was used on tokusetsu and rui shi, for example. So, yet again blizzards borrows designs from miniature games? Not even surprised. =)
I've finally watched CB videos about 3rd offensive and one with IA reminded me that I have smthn that I've never posted on forum. Well, it's not JSA, but who cares? Here it goes, archmage of compensation - glorious Yan Huo, that I've painted year ago: Spoiler: More of big buddy Thanks for feedback! Year ago I've painted pink hairs on 75mm figure and next moment I've realized that there is no turning back...
Some small update - lil heal yaozao. Let's pretend that there is someone to be healed in JSA. Spoiler: More of Yaosaurus
nice textures on Tag Guy or whatever is this Yellow dude :) and purple / pink colour on belowguy is nice to :)
@Daimeow I agree that the lighter purple looks amazing. Any tips for us who would like to try our hand in recreating it?
wel ifitgo for mei would just use magenta paint .. and then mix (you may get magenta like by mixing red + blue a but is quite hard as it will go instantly in to a purple / plum instade to magenta as for proper magenta you need Red + blue and + anilin .... and this last part may be a problem so basicly i woud start from Magenta / fuxia ) But w8 for Dai Meow answer ;)
Thaks guys, glad to hear all of that. =) I'm not sure that I got your question right. So, do you want to know how to make exact same purple as I did on last minis? I'm a bit confused by "lighter" part and assumed, that may be you want to know my opinion on a bit different colour? Eeh, seems like recent superglue sniffing ain't no good for me.
Sorry if I was unclear. What I meant was how to replicate the color of purple you used in the miniature. In other words, a color recipe.
I'm afraid to ask why... Btw never mentioned to quit this week. Still have to much stuff to sni... glue. Nothing to be sorry about. Similar recipe with photos of bottles and colors was somewhere on 1st page. I only exclude hull red. And there definetly was magenta. I'm starting to add it in bloodfest crimson from upper midtones. And also i mix in old rose for highlights. Trick is to balance amount of magenta in your mix. Pure old rose for spotty highlights. Probably you can go bit further with highs if u want. And I think that major trick here is same as with painting any other dark colour - your highlights should be narrow. If color went off a bit then I apply a local glaze with magenta or bloodfest crimson (or both =D).
