Haha. There's the section9 we love. Time and mostly some more trial and error will tell if it climb+ carries the day. But yeah, id stopped even considering the Lu Duan until that post!
Very true - especially given a toolbag that also covers many of the classified objectives at the same time. In ITS, having a model that can complete objectives and score classifieds all by itself is powerful in its own right, and can easily win games without firing a single shot. #NotAllRambosCarryGuns That's exactly where the distinction is - the Daofei is primarily a gun platform, with only a single specialist option, and one which is much less manoeuvrable. The Zencha is an objective, uh, specialist - it has the toolkit to win games through pushing buttons and scoring classifieds. Facing a marker state, invulnerable specialist scoring with relative impunity, starting right by objectives, but able to sneak onto rooftops is daunting; how many resources would you commit to removing that threat? By making it vulnerable to mines that is mitigated somewhat - and one that places the onus of skill on the owner. It's not going to make it popular, but like any acquired taste, it will gather it's own officiandos.
I do like Daofeis. Those are one of the most horrored units in our faction IMO, since it is born blessed with positives from HI and SK both. An HI armed to the teeth and shove himself into theat weeb SK line? Who would say no. Dao can't belong to a 'weak' category at least. Think there's the problem; people were expecting Dao in IA. Or at least, Zhencha was shadowed by Daofei. Which it failed to fulfill. So as we all say, we are disappointed by any good reasons. Still you pose a good side of view. Zhencha's more.. Special, although it has its weaknesses, its unique mobility scratches me at the tickling spot. I found myself lack of speed when I play the games. Often it comes to a last minute buzzer beater, and Guilangs tend to perish off on turn 2, Daos earn their bread but he's a physical beater, not a mission man. Thus I agree with you. Zhenchas can be a real hero. It all depends on player's skill, and Im getting hyped what can this guy do, even outside the IA. This guy got potential.
I can certainly see the appeal of a powerful beatstick, especially one that will tough it out in the midfield - but, I guess CB think it will be overpowered in the midfield, in a sectorial setting. I guess there's going to be articles explaining the design choices closer to IA's release, but for the meantime I'm left considering how much of a nightmare a tooled up, super-mobile, ultra tough, infiltrating and camo'ed model would be, and ultimately how broken it could be. Which is why I suggested a super-Shikami earlier, to visualise the monster...
Yeah, adding another mine-soakable HI upon YJ's midfields would've engaged in many.. discussions. Once again I agree with that.
A Daofei and Zhencha together would cost about 100pts (assuming there would have been no Daofei modifications, they'd be a minimum of 82|0, and that's a BS Daofei/SMG Zhencha). They'd likely be a brutal team, but that's still 27% of a 300pt list in two models!
Like the ones we got after Uprising? If it happens it will be a "buy my book, I'm gutier christ king of the Infinity, suck on my book" promotional flyer in blog post form.
Well... we were told repeatedly the Daofei wouldn't be in IA since more than two years ago, so... yeah...
Englishman knowing anything about seasoning ? Wow that's the revolution :P (it's really amazing how the nation with the easiest/broadest/best access to various spices could have so horrible national dishes)
Still you get the brutal mid-line bully with his own button servant. Not bad I think? Especially if you back them up with Lu duan.
Tbh I'm mostly here to see what will happen when IA will drop and get fully to know all the nice things. Which will probably make me (as a MO player) jelous :) IA seems to be a bit of contrary (to MO) in regard of Command&Control, with all those snippets of information it seems that IA strength will lie in order robustness (Lt2+NCO+Tactical Sense + probably CounterIntelligence) similar (but probably stronger) to OSS. Something MO will be definetaly lacking (as current MO Lt position seems rather as a weakness). Plus those rumored "all HI" buffs (fairy dust is given, I wonder what's more we will see). Still it will be probably quite an interesting thing to see reactions of all those salty people to full IA reveal.
I think that we be a defining feature. If we do get Lt2, NCO, Tactical Sense and Counter Intelligence, then damn that'll be nice! It will also mean that a decent 6-7 HI, with some support REMs/LI will have some real teeth!
Wasn't that hinted quite heavily from the start of taking about IA ? Plus you know you will have a dedicated C&C unit (probably something akin Shukra with some different set of skills).
Naw, mate, I mean nobody should've expected Daofei. Personally my first reaction was surprise that it was so close to being a Daofei. That was my biggest disappointment. The lack of second wound and lack of shock immunity is my biggest fear for how it'll play and what that means for future releases.
